This is Mabel! We began training at only 4 months old. Mabel needed some guidance on quite a few things since she is a puppy, but she is very smart and learns super quickly! In only 5 sessions, Mabel completely learned “stay,” “come,” and “look.” She also started learning “drop it” since she has an issue of picking at house plants and random objects, and though it needs more practice and time she still caught onto the concept in just half an hour and even dropped a few toys on her own on command. We also worked on decreasing door darting before leaving for a walk, as well as if people are coming in and out the door. In just a few sessions we’ve gotten to the point where Mabel has been able to continually stay even if the door is all the way open, as well as if we are walking away out the door in plain sight. Of course there are slip ups and thats totally expected and okay, but the self control she has gained in such a short time is evident. Lastly, we worked on her being better on walks overall, listening to the owner at any random given time and not just going wherever she wants. She was never really a crazy walker and never pulled much which is great, but of course we still want to improve as much as we can. At first, Mabel was quite distracted outdoors and had some difficulty being able to stay and sit when we needed her to, but after only 2 walking sessions and having the owner practice walking her on only 1 side of him most of the time, she is now more adapted, she’s better at working through outside distractions such as people and cars, her reaction time is a lot quicker, and she can listen well and regularly. She did an amazing job in such a short amount of time and has come a long way! I also recommended products to deter the plant chewing, as well as toy products to keep her mind stimulated and busy to help her burn that energy and get through the teething process as all puppies need!

This is Guerra! She was only 7 months old when we started training. She has quite a lot of problem areas. Overall listening and following direction is an issue in itself, as well as big reactivity to others, lunging and extreme pulling. Guerra still has a long way to go, but in only 4 sessions, she has learned “look,” “come,” and “stay.” She also has learned to listen more quickly and more frequently on walks and in public, and is also sometimes more able to observe and approach distracting surroundings in a calm manner. 4 sessions later Guerra has gained more obedience and self control, and is slowly habituating to outside activity. This all seemed pretty impossible to the owner in the beginning, but slowly and surely she is improving. I also provided the owner with product recommendations for mental exercise to keep Guerra busy and burn that puppy energy off which is definitely needed, and many tips and tricks for training while I am not around. We most likely plan to continue training in the near future once they have figured out their moving situation.

This is Calvin! He is about 1 year old. His main issue was jumping on people. This would happen especially at first greeting, but even so at random times. He’d even hump peoples legs while at it. He would also often hop onto the couch with people there which he is not allowed on, or sometimes spring up on the dining table. Only 5 sessions later, Calvin has stopped his jumping habits over 90% of the time!! He now knows how to greet people with all 4 paws still on the floor, has not hu**ed anyones legs, and the random bouts have decreased significantly. Additionally he has also learned the commands “down,” “look,” “come,” “stay,” and “off.” Even though “off” still needs some work, in only 2 sessions he had already learned the concept of the command and can hop off the couch when being told! He now also comes on command instantly almost every time, he’s able to stay in place for semi-long periods of time even with us walking away, and even went from not knowing how to lay down to now doing it really well and fast. He even started getting the hang of doing everything with added distractions, such as throwing toys and leaving treats on the ground. Surprisingly he actually is better behaved and quicker in response while outside in the front yard, so its great that Calvin can already naturally work around environmental distractions. He needs a little more work inside the home, but he’s truly made remarkable improvement in only 5 sessions 🙂 We plan to continue training after the holidays 👍🏼

This is Bella! We only had a couple sessions together. Her main issue is being extremely afraid of the pool, to the point of running away even just when humans enter. After just 1 session with the owners help, we were able to get her into the first step of the pool and actually stay there with us, which was very surprising to the owners as she normally would have been acting outrageous and not staying still at all. She was still extremely scared and wanting to leave, but it was great that we could at least show her that there are steps to enter onto, and that the pool isn’t just come scary cliff to fall in. Many dogs fear of the pool can stem from the whole idea of entering it, so knowing there are steps for them can help bring ease. Another issue of hers was that she would only listen to the main owner, but not so much the owners partner. Well after session 2, Bella was able to better listen to the owners partner and keep focus on her a little more. After just this 1 session, Bella was able make eye contact with, and hold a “sit” & “stay” position for owner #2 even while I purposefully tried distracted her with squeaking toys and running around. Its great that she was able to redirect her own focus onto owner #2 who she was initially hesitant to listen to in the first place. We also worked on the command “down,” which is pretty hard for Bella, but we could see she was at least trying by eventually bending her elbows which she wasn’t doing at first. She even finally trusted in owner #2 to give her a lending hand and show her the position. I also provided the owners with tips and tricks for the issue of chewing, including products they can use on their furniture to deter the behavior as well as mental exercise toys to keep busy and burn energy. Bella has a lot of work to be done, but at least I was able to provide some advice and guidance.

*** PRICE INCREASE ***

Hello everybody. Please be informed that there is going to be a price increase for my dog training services. This DOES NOT include travel costs if any.

- For new clients: Effective 11/14/2021
- For existing & past clients: Effective 01/01/2022

————————

* New client prices are :

- $60 per session bought individually
OR
- $250 for 5 sessions (which equals $50 per session).

For existing & past clients, due to the inconvenience and suddenty, you are able to keep the original starting price throughout the rest of this year until 01/2022. Your price increase will also be slightly less than what it is for new-comers.

* Existing & past client prices are :

- $50 per session bought individually
OR
- $200 for 5 sessions (which equals $40 an hour)

* Travel Fee :

- I live in the city of Burbank. Depending on how far you are from me, I do charge for travel expense. I offer a free 16 miles. Any additional miles after that will be 56 cents per mile. Anything over 25 miles will incur an additional charge of $5 up to 10 miles.

—————————

Please keep in mind that the price increase is a lot more compared to my starting price, simply because I priced myself significantly less than the average dog trainer! I did this as a way to be a remarkably affordable option for everyone and to spread my business around. Due to inflation all over the economy, my increasing amount of clientele & busier schedule, and travel expenses including vehicle wear/tear, it is only necessary I do this.

**The average cost of a dog trainer ranges from $60 to $155 per hour.**
As you can see, my price increase is still much more affordable compared to others, and still on the low end of the range.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, and thank you for your business!

This is Roscoe! We only had 1 session together. His issue was about going potty all over the house. It seems as though he wants to mark territory in every corner and object, rather than for the purpose of relieving himself. Of course it’s hard to be consistent with training for this because we almost have to wait for these accidents to happen as well as we never truly know when exactly he will potty outside where he is supposed to, but I was able to provide the owner with a lot of advice and information on how to combat this issue like what products she can use for her furniture to deter the behavior, how to anticipate it coming, what and what not to do before/during/and after, how to redirect his focus before it happens, when and how to reward, and even practice these tactics a few times. Also acknowledging that pups need to go potty the most specifically after meal time, after play time, after a nap, and the morning after a full nights sleep. With that said, the owner was very thankful and believes she can apply her new knowledge on her own for now and will see where it takes her!

This is Bolt! He was only 4 months old when we started training. Due to being highly distracted by everything in his path, hyper, and of-course a puppy, he had trouble all around listening and focusing. After only 5 sessions he has learned the commands “look,” “down,” “come,” and “stay.” He also started slowly getting the hang of listening with added distractions such as dropping treats, throwing toys, and going to the park with different surroundings. He still has a long way to go, still gets side tract easily and is still very stubborn at times, but he is really smart and has come a long way in a short amount of time. I also provided the owner with product recommendations to keep him mentally stimulated, busy, and to burn energy especially during times where they don’t have time for physical exercise, as well as products to use on outdoor furniture and plants to deter him from trying to pick up and eat everything outside.

Sharing some of my photo’s from the past!
[Some from the veterinary field, some from daycare].

Working with dogs has always been so amazing!!
They never fail to make my day better 💖
I’ve always been such a dog lover 😝

Hello everyone! Here’s a little bit about me and how I got to where I am 👍🏼 :

My name is Milan Duguil. I’m currently 23 years old (dob: March 1998). I’m born and raised here in LA, specifically Burbank. I grew up with a family dog for 11 years, and ever since then I gained a strong love and passion for animals! I am now a current dog mom myself, to a beautiful 2 year old American Staffordshire named Olive whom I’ve had since she was 10 weeks old! 🦴

Through the years, I’ve changed my mind numerous times about what career path I wanted to take, but one thing was for sure: I always wanted to work with animals to some capacity! I realized that dog training was exactly how I wanted to go about doing that. I’ve now been working with animals for a long while. I’ve been a dog sitter, a dog walker & trainer through the “Wag!” app, a dog handler at a doggy daycare, a veterinary receptionist, a Vet Tech (animal nurse) student in which I’ve completed school half way, and now I have a career diploma in dog obedience training! 🐶

I look forward to meeting everyone and all the wonderful cute doggies!! 💖 And a big shoutout to all my past & current clients, thank you!!
