Wadi Rum Dogs

This the story of Lawrence. He was found by Alex, who was in Wadi Rum on a holiday. Badly hurt his leg was broken in multiple places and he had two deep cuts. After a 15 minute chase, he gave up and we could bring him to the vet. The vet did a great job taking care of him but couldn’t safe his leg. Thanks to Alex he is still running around in Wadi Rum. Unfortunately his faith in humans is very low and so even fed by us he didn’t want to stay. We still see him around and he is doing great even with only 3 legs.

Someone contacted me for some street dogs that are at the petrol station of Disah. He did a donation so I could buy two 20kg bags that I dropped off. The person at the petrol station is kind enough and will give the dogs a bit of food in the morning and the evening.

Little update. The second day one more dog bas been castrated and also a cat! Thank you to the owners of the dog and cat to trust us with these beautiful and very well cared animals!

Klein update, de tweede dag heeft de dierenarts nog een kat en een hond kunnen castreren. Dank u aan de eigenaars die ons hun goed verzorgde dieren hebben toevertrouwd.

The first day of the first edition of Wadi Rum dogs. 5 dogs from the village got neutered. Thanks to the help of the villagers everything went well.
Premier jour de la première édition de Wadi Rum dogs. 5 chiens ont pu être castrés grâce à l’aide des villageois. Tout s’est bien passé.
Eerste dag van de eerste editie van Wadi Rum dogs. 5 honden zijn gecastreerd dankzij de hulp van de dorpelingen. Alles is zeer vlot verlopen.

Un nouveau projet dans le Wadi Rum pour éviter la multiplication des chiens errants. Chaque année ils sont soit empoisonnés soit abattus. La castration/stérilisation de ces chiens éviterait cette mort horrible.
Une cagnotte leetchi a été créée pour cette occasion. L’entièreté des dons ira pour cette cause.
Si les dons nous le permettent nous pourrions étendre cette politique à d’autres animaux qui sont en surnombre et maltraités ou malades.

New project in Wadi Rum to avoid the multiplication of street dogs in the village. Every year the dogs are poisoned or shot. The most humane thing to do is to neuter them.
A leetchi fundraiser has been created for this occasion. The entire amount will be used for this cause.
If the amount of the donations allow us we could extend the project to other animals that are proliferating, abused or sick.

Nieuw project in Wadi Rum om de overpopulatie van straathonden tegen te gaan in het dorp. Elk jaar worden deze honden vergiftigd of doodgeschoten. Het castreren en steriliseren van deze honden zou het gruwelijk afmaken van de dieren voorkomen. Hiervoor is er een leetchi fundraiser opgestart. Het volledig bedrag dient voor dit project.
Indien overshot van giften zou de zorg uitgebreid worden voor andere dieren in nood.
