Cornwall Badger Group We are your local badger group affiliated to Badger Trust, working to help Badgers in need We advise people about badgers as much as we can.
(1)

This group has been set up over the last year to help with anything badger related. We have had several injured/ill badgers to help, as well as the recording of road casualties. We rely on people contacting us with information on setts and badger activity so please do get in touch. Cornwall is a large area to cover so If you could to be part of our network of helpers, mainly verifying road casualties/reports, please let us know.

🚨 Badger cull court update 🚨

Last week, we were due in the High Court with Wild Justice to challenge Natural England over huge cost increases in our legal case against the 2024 supplementary badger cull licences.

Natural England wants to raise the standard cost cap from £10,000 to £30,000 for us. We believe this is an attempt to pressure us into dropping the case.

Everyone should have the right to challenge decisions that harm wildlife without facing unfair financial barriers.

The court hearing about these costs has been postponed to October due to scheduling issues, and the main hearing on the cull will go ahead in December.

We’re standing firm for badgers and for the public’s right to environmental justice.

Another Rescue that came in via
Last Chance Hotel Animal
Rescue & Rehome Cornwall UK

This time two beautiful Fox cubs

They had managed to get behind a 10ft wall with no means of getting out. But luckily a lady that lives in a basement flat spotted them and called us, over went our Volunteer who got them out and returned them to where they live totally unharmed.

Had a lovely day talking all things badger at the Ravenswell 10th Anniversary fundraising day.

Very interesting talks by Wendy about her plans to create a wildlife space/hospital/re-hab place for Cornwall.

Lovely to meet the birds and watch some flying.
It's on tomorrow- we won't be there-but it's worth a visit if you care about wildlife and like cake!

Plus we met some lovely people who want to come on board to support us.

Finnigans Rainbow are looking after a couple of our Badger cubs that came in a while ago and they are doing great.
But now need some help with the Baby Seagulls and help with building some new enclosures Please if you can help them at all they would be so grateful.

Well, it's baby gull season again and we are totally inundated with the wee darlings. Is there anyone who feels they may be able to chick foster a couple of babies for us please? The requests for help and rehabilitation are far out weighing our capabilities but not our desire to help these little innocents. If you feel you have the time, the patience ( to constantly clear up the outfall from what was shovelled in at the beak end) and the compassion to ignore the constant noisy requests for attention, then please contact me and we will furnish you with a couple of babies for a week or two until they are big and strong enough to go into our ' big boy and girl ' pen, prior to release. Thank you, Caroline xx p.s. please share if you might know someone else that can help.

WITHDRAWN-

Thank you from all the creatures great and small for your support regarding the Rose Hill Lodges planning application.
The application has been withdrawn prior to a decision being made by the planning authority.

They may have been advised to withdraw by their agents or Cornwall Council in order to avoid a refusal.

We will now wait for the next application and hope that this time round it considers the villagers views and is kinder to our wildlife.
We also hope that we will be notified straight away so that we can prepare our case to protect the wild, visual amenity and overload on our failing sewage systems.

This is not just about 'Holiday Homes' this is about a return on investment-build bigger-sell for more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Let’s hope all our wildlife uses it.

Let’s hope all our wildlife uses it.

The 50-metre (165ft) 'green bridge' will allow badgers and voles to safely get to their destination across six lanes

The dry weather is beginning to affect our wildlife. Please put food and water out if you can.
