Bit of an update on MaggMaggs! Good and Bad news.....
Maggie has managed to root fracture one of her canines and broken the other exposing the pulp......obviously given my job, I noticed straight away! Likely due to her vallant attempts of digging using her one leg and mouth 😳
In true Maggs style, she needs to be referred to a specialist in Hampshire and will have surgery to removed the fractured tooth and root canal on the other on the 22nd Sept. I still have some funds left from the Just Giving so that will go towards it!
Shes still worth every penny and is the happiest most grateful little (big) dog ###

Just a bit of an update on finances given you’ve all contributed towards Maggies care - which I cannot thank you enough for. Yes, from June she has her own bank account! I have about £400 more to transfer over from the JustGiving holding account, which in total has raised just over an amazing £5000!
To date Maggie has cost just over £8000 from the start of her accident in December. Her amputation and emergency care for the septic arthritis came in at £3447 plus future appointments for suture removal and carpal supports for her right leg. There is also physio long term as amputees often twist through their lumbar region when they move.
The vets are really happy with how her right leg is coping, shes a young strong dog and they had no concerns taking it off given that the amputation was a live saving procedure for her. Issues may arise as she gets older and ive been assured there are things we can do to combat those…….we will cross that bridge when we come to it! IF (god forbid) her right leg doesn’t hold out, then at least I can reassure myself that ive done all I can and given her the best life post accident.
Ive decided to keep her JG running for its max time as treatment is ongoing for her.

Yes I am sleeping on the floor with her! Means she can sleep more comfortably without the bucket on her head! Also it gives her reassurance.

Maggie had her amputation today at the referral clinic in Surrey…….shes awake, doing well and fundamentally wont be in any more pain from her elbow. The vets think she will make a very quick recovery due to her being well adapted on 3 legs.
Thank you for all your support from the bottom of our hearts 🥰
