Blueberry is not out of the woods yet he just left VEG and is headed home. $8000 quoted for a possible blockage. This is just money we do not have to spend he was given IV fluids, and $1200 later we are hoping and praying he can hold out till Monday when he goes back to our regular vet. He was at our regular vet on Thursday. They did x-rays they saw some bubble gut, but nothing alarming. He wasn’t doing any better today took him to VEG later we still really don’t have any definitive answer. Other than he does not feel good. He is lethargic he’s not eating he’s drinking minimal amounts.

I don’t understand how things got so incredibly expensive. This is three times what we've paid in past years for blockage surgery.

There has to be some alternatives like this is outrageously expensive.

If you can help us recoup some of these costs, we would greatly appreciate it. We still have surgery possibly on Monday and now we’re out $1200 with no definitive answer.

Our next Employee of the Week is Echo! 💕

This gorgeous girl has been with Five Acres, either in the shelter or a foster home, for almost 600 days, but her smile is still shining bright! Echo is a lab/pit mix nearing her fifth birthday, and she is eagerly looking for her perfect adopter. To her, that would be a home with adults who are willing to give endless belly rubs and don't have any other pets. Echo deserves a wonderful home where she will be loved and taken care of.

Great collars and a Great Cause

After the loss of the amazing Penny, I’m determined more than ever to make sure Lincoln (Penny’s brother) is with us as long as possible. He’s had quite a few health concerns for quite a while so I always thought Penny would surely survive him. We’ve had quite a few pretty pricy vet procedures lately and will be needing more so I’m back on my collar hustle!

Coco and Rocco are sharing the title this week! 🏆

This gorgeous pair was found tied to the deck at Five Acres. They are two and a half year old pitties who love climbing all over each other to get closer to the humans! Coco and Rocco are energetic and playful with an endless supply of sloberry kisses! They would be great additions to any home, and they would do well with kids.

Have a new dog? Keep them safe by staying outside with them and keeping them on a leash even in a fenced in yard. Always on a leash if you have no fence.

Until the dog is comfortable and you know if they are an escape artist, we need to be extra cautious.

Too many newly adopted dogs or new foster dogs end up escaping and lost. They do not understand and many need time to decompress.

DRUMROLL PLEASE! The results are in from Embark. Most of us guessed the breed of our girl Vada but Zorro was quite a mystery from the time he was in the shelter. Prepare to be surprised friends!
