No fancy music, just the nice crisp sound of crunching fall leaves in JANUARY?!? Yes, yesterday in January!! We took complete advantage of 60 degree weather and took the pups out to explore under the trees in the crisp fall leaves still laying on the ground. SUCH a good experience of new textures and sounds for the pups - and they did great!!
And for tomorrow... we prepare for 10-14” of snow 😂

Honey’s little ones are getting so big and have conquered so much! Moving surfaces, overhead sights, textures, so many sounds, heights and more! Water play was reintroduced today... letting them ease into it at their own pleasure with a trickling hose, water in the ball pit and later we added the sprinkler. They were pretty excited!!

Their first day of life... this day is a busy day with all attention to delivery and helping mom adjust. While delivery usually lasts thru a night or most of a day, Honey topped our nursery records with this litter delivering ✨8 babies in 1 hr 43 minutes!✨ I had hoped to capture more of the delivery in pictures but she kept us hopping!!
These first few days are solely for mom and babies. Time for nourishing her, equipping her to nurture, and babies learning they’re safe simply by being warm and well fed with mom and siblings.
We have someone awake in the nursery 24 hours and stay nearby all day to help make sure mom doesn’t accidentally get moving too much and step on a babe, that temperatures are just right for babies but not too warm for mom, and that mom has all she needs nearby. You’ll sometimes find us hand feeding mom and giving water her while she nurses if she just doesn’t want to leave those babes. We do a quick daily weight and wellness check on babies and check mom over for healing and hints of any nursing issues, and make adjustments for each mom and babies needs.
We can’t wait to hold these gems but the best way for them to learn their first feeling of safety, security, and growing in strength is by being solely in their own little pack... so for now we wait.
On this first evening during weight checks we had a heated area setup and ready for just a few quick pics so you all can enjoy the squeaks and awe of these new little lives with us.
