😢 UPDATE ON PRECIOUS 😢
First, I want to tell everyone who donated to help get costs for her needs covered how much I appreciate you all. Without your help I couldn't do every thing I need to do for these dogs. So, thank you all so much from the bottom of my Tender Heart.
Update:
Her Echo revealed Pulmonary Hypertension. The doctor said if she were a person she would need a heart & lung transplant. She has been prescribed medications to try to control her symptoms.
The bad news -- this is the only treatment plan for this condition. If the new meds do not work or stop working it will be time to say goodbye.
The good, she's already responding positively by not being on the other medication she was on and is now eating again. Her symptoms are more controlled and her quality of life is 100% better than just a couple of days ago.
The specialist said she could get 2 weeks or 2 months. I'm not okay with the time being so short but seeing her get excited to eat again and not struggling for air gives me some peace that she will have a little more quality of life until I have to say goodbye.
I've been trying to read up on the condition but it has just left me with more questions I'll need to ask the dr. I'll update with any changes as they araise. Thank you everyone for your support and love for Perfect Preshy.
💔 I’d be lying if I said I was okay… 💔
This is Precious — or as I call her, Perfect Precious. Because to me, she is the most perfect dog. 🐾
Right now, she needs your love & your help more than ever.
For weeks, she’s been struggling to breathe. 😢
We’ve seen 4 vets in person (3 primary and 1 ER) and even consulted another by text — trying everything to help her. Some meds helped a little, others made things worse. The latest one caused awful side effects, and I had to stop it after just 3 doses.
We haven’t slept in days. I’m exhausted, emotionally broken, and financially drained. But I can’t give up on her — not without knowing there’s truly nothing else we can do.
When I reached out to an ER vet in the middle of the night, he recommended a specialist. The visit $180, and the echo she needed $420. That’s $600 total ($545 with a discount) — and I simply don't have it.
But Precious deserves answers. She deserves to breathe easy. She deserves comfort for however much time she has left. 💔
✨ Her story:
Precious spent the first 7–8 years of her life outdoors — living in dirt, under a porch during storms for shelter, or occasionally on the porch where her owners and visitors would smoke ci******es. No heartworm prevention, no air conditioning in the Florida heat. But she never complained.
One day, she escaped the yard with her buddy Kujo. They were picked up by animal control… and their owners said they weren't getting her back. 💔
When we found out we said "not on our watch." Mason bailed her out, and when she started showing signs of something very wrong with her health brought her to me. After fighting through heartworms and a serious blood disorder that nearly took her life — with special food, meds, and multiple blood transfusions — Precious made a miraculous recovery.
She’s been living here ever since — a sanctuary dog, safe and loved.
Now, we’re fighting for her again. I just want to give her the best care possible, even if it’s just a little more time feeling better before it’s time to say goodbye.
