Today, Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Soli Deo says goodbye to one of its grandbabies, Una, aka CH Soli Deo's A Chip Off the Old Block. Una, a most beautiful Bullmastiff bitch, grew up with her owner, Caroline Morris Kaiser, Mark's youngest daughter, and her family. Caroline was only 17 when Una became her daughter, and, in the time since, Caroline has married, had a daughter of her own, and moved from Albemarle, NC to Hubert, NC and back to Albemarle, NC. A lot of life happenings in only 9+ years, and Una's been by Caroline's side for all of them.

Although being a Bullmastiff, weighing between 110-120 lbs, Una would love on you with her whole body, tail wagging THE WHOLE TIME. She was such a happy puppy, and one who cared deeply for "her" baby, Blakely, Caroline's daughter. Una knew that Blakely was coming while Blakely was still in the womb, for Caroline would encourage Una to lay down with her and listen to her baby bulge. When Blakely finally arrived, Una even kept watch across the room while Blakely was in the crib.; therefore, Blakely dubbed her "Mamu," for Mama Una. I can only imagine the "pony" doggy rides for that little one.

Una will be missed greatly, but, given that she has struggled over the weekend with what-we-think is congestive heart failure, a fate dealt to her mother, Soli, too, she will soon be in a better place.

Our hearts now have a big piece missing, and we shed tears for a soul who definitely made our lives better just by being present in them. Enjoy running with Mama Soli, Aunt Belle, Aunt Grace, and Aunt Gretchen. Aunt Belle might nip at your heels and tell you that she's just as big as you are (Belle was a French Bulldog); Aunt Grace will love on you and take you to wonderful places; and Aunt Gretchen will probably snub you and want to fight with you, although she knows you would win. Mama Soli now has another Bullmastiff with whom to roam the fields and reign over all the little dogs.

A belated Happy Birthday to our Chloe, aka CH Rival's Shamrock at Soli Deo JH, a most beautiful and vivacious 10-year-old Brittany girl. Chloe lights up a room when she enters it. She commands your attention, and she's intelligent and devilish. Happy Birthday sweet Girl. So thankful for your new mommy and daddy, Sandy and Mickey Dunaway.
