Serenity Retirement Boarding has two boarding spots left at our beautiful facility in Powhatan, VA! We are a full-service boarding facility specializing in retirees, lay-ups, pregnant broodmares, or any horse that needs an easy pasture life with tons of care and attention.

Free choice hay, twice daily feedings of grain, and our entire horse loving family living on-site mean your horse is spoiled and tended with tons of TLC. Our horse owners receive photos of their horses at least weekly!

Rachel Stauffer, owner of Serenity, is a licensed veterinary technician with over 30 years of horse experience- including management of a 40+ competition horse program- and a specialty license in Emergency and Critical Care.

Serenity Retirement Boarding is so proud of our first newly designed and custom built feed room. So many thanks to Mathew Stauffer for the sweat, blood, and (manly) tears that went into making this completely perfect. We're incredibly pleased with the end result and can't wait for the other two feed rooms to be done!

The horses LOVE round bale change day. The leftovers in the round bale hay net get put into a pile for their enjoyment while we put the new bale into the holder. It's a hay smorgasbord!

Annie is at day 327 of her gestation, and she is SO ready for this baby to be out in the world instead of her belly 😂 She loved her bath today and is happy having food shoved under her nose four times per day, plus free feed hay. We love this mare so much!
