To The Person Who Hit Our Dog And Didn't Stop ...
First off, I hope you weren't hurt and there is no injury to you.
You must have been going at a high rate of speed on our county road, I’m grateful that no human was injured in your attempt to beat the clock, or perhaps you were just having a quick thrill. Perhaps if you were going the speed limit you would have had time to stop and avoid the collision.
George was meant to be our farm guardian dog. We brought him on the farm probably the same time we moved in. Yes, we should have a gate and we will surely get one now, it was on our to-do list for so long. For this, we feel great guilt and sadness.
We understand that accidents can happen, but leaving the scene without taking any responsibility for your actions is unacceptable. The least you could have done was to stop and check on our dog's condition and look for his owner or report it somewhere. Instead, you chose to run away, leaving our dog to suffer alone on the cold winter day, without any care or attention.
How can you sleep knowing what you did? Would you stop if you hit a child? Or would you be too busy? Well, there are no hard feelings afterward, we learned a big lesson here.
It is been a super challenging time with many details and struggles I had to overcome. There were only a few people that believed in George's recovery and showed us a tremendous amount of care and support. We will be forever grateful to those people. I don't even know some people in person but they were there for us.. There were people that couldn't care less and people that almost forced me to euthanize George.
We live in a small world. One day, our farm will be big and known, I'm taking big pride in everything we do and maybe one day, you'll come over to the farm and I hope you will find courtesy, time, or compassion to ask us if we were okay ...
The store isn’t over yet… Off to the new season on the farm with a new experience.
