Training your dog isn't about creating a robot. Celebrate each win and remember its a process that takes time. Don't miss out on little wins staring at the end goal.
Odin is a highly reactive dog to everything that moves. For him to regain focus in training and stay with me is huge for him.
He let 2 dogs pass and stayed in stay and engaging with me. To some this sounds like nothing. Odin is turning 1. This has took time and patience and constant changes of distractions.
Don't forget to love the process, otherwise you'll not appreciate the goal. 🐕
THE MOST OVERLOOKED TRICK IN THE BOOK....THE ART OF NOTHING.....
If I stop moving, no matter how busy or how many distractions there are, my dog should sit down. Especially if I sit down like in this video. I gave odin no instructions to sit but as its engraved in him, this could save his life.
Just because your dog is friendly with people and other dogs doesn't mean other people and other dogs are..... keep your dog safe.
Once the lead is unclipped, don't get into the practice of letting that little clip noise as a cue for your dog to bolt. Even once they are free, they still should wait for instruction ❤️ any help with loose lead walking or recall, hit that message button ❤️
Always praise your dog for the littlest of good behaviour that you want. Treats and play shouldn't always be your focus of praise as you might not have your Treats or toys in a harder situation. Using good boy or good girl as a word of praise and not as a cue for a treat is always great as your dog doesn't expect anything, they just like being told they're doing a good job and what they are doing is the behaviour you want.
Always correct the behaviour you do not want as you will have a dog that walks all over you ❤️
A little bit of Odin 🐕 8 weeks vs 8 months old ❤️
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a fantastic new year.🥳

Crate training can be a complex one and can be used in the wrong way. If you need any tips for crate training and making it a place they want to be, or any other training please give me a message.

When you bring home a pup, it's important to start toilet training straight away. Immediately if you can.
Having them go on que makes it easier for when they have to work around you. Or for example, you're on a long car journey and you need a pit stop.
***TIP****
I didn't let Odin in the house until he familiarised him self with the front garden and as soon as he finished his buisness, he was allowed in the house.
This took about 30 mins the first time but after that he soon realised if he does his buisness straight away, he comes in the house quicker. But this is Odin at 8 weeks on day 2 at being home.
At 11 weeks he is pretty much fully house trained.
*****REPETITION IS KEY. STICK WITH ONE QUE AND HAVE EVERYONE ELSE USE THE SAME QUE WORD*****
