🍃WE ARE CLOSING🍃

There’s no easy way to say it but I have decided to close down Holisticanine. I have come to a point in my journey that I feel like it’s time to close the chapter on HC. While I would’ve loved to continue it in an ideal world, the work load and demands of running a biz alone have been a lot on me. I will always love Holisticanine and all of you with all of my heart. I couldn’t have built it up to what it is without your support and kind words and help.

Words can never express how grateful I am for all your support ~ from the presets I first made, to retailing other small businesses’ products to learning to sew to creating my own original products. Every single post, share, like, comment, and purchase y’all have made so deeply touched me and continues to mean the world to me.

It’s hard saying goodbye but I’m so grateful for what I’ve learned through this journey from entrepreneurship to pet health research and the bonds we have created 💚

Special thank you to all my lovely ambassadors over the past years for helping me build Holisticanine to what it is today.🥺 And thank you sooo much to all the small businesses I have met on this journey and to those who carry my products in their stores🫶🏽

ladies & gentlemen: ✨her✨ -> THE WALK BAG

our first sustainable accessory launches tomorrow!💚

made of recycled water bottles, our walk bag is intentionally designed, multi-functional, and low-impact on the planet♻️

one of my favorite parts of the walk bag is the p**p bag dispenser! i purposefully designed the p**p bag dispenser to be minimalistic and easily functional

one of my greatest annoyances being a dog mom is how difficult it is to string p**p bags through the tiny holes in dispensers. it’s such a small thing but considering how much we walk our pups, it turns out to be a hassle basically multiple times a day.

so that’s what inspired this design! i was so tired of holding my phone, headphones, keys, treats all in my hands and then struggling to hold everything when i had to pick up 💩, often holding my belongings between my knees, under my pits 😅 (which im sure y’all understand the struggle)

by creating a bag that seamlessly fits all our walk essentials in organized, waterproof compartments, and adding an easy-to-dispense p**p bag dispenser, my hope is to make your walks and adventures easier to manage and less overwhelming so you can really spend that quality time focused on your pup 💚

I wanted to share a little story of how holisticanine started, and hopefully send some encouragement to creators, small business owners, or really anyone who may need it 💚

I started holisticanine in the summer of 2020, and was so excited and passionate about my mission that I felt like everyone must be aligned and it would be a guaranteed success. On my opening day I was expecting at least 50 orders. I received 6.

I was heartbroken, thought I was a failure, thought no one liked me or wanted to support me. But I kept it in. I didn’t share my feelings of failure with anyone because I’m stubborn and refused to believe that I had failed. Looking back, it’s so funny to me that I thought I had failed because not everything is a success from the start. We have such a tainted view of success from social media, like you have to be selling out, be extremely popular, and that this is something normal to expect when you’re just starting out.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. To build something, you have to create a community. And more importantly, you have to believe in yourself.

So that’s what I did. I knew my mission had purpose: to bring sustainable and healthy goods to the forefront of the pet industry. I kept trying different things, products, marketing. I burnt myself out multiple times and took time for myself, but I just kept going even when it seemed like their was no hope, no point, no customers.

It took me about 1.5 years to get holisticanine to the point where I could expect those 50 orders from a launch. It took time, effort, making friends and creating a like-minded community. It wasn’t overnight and it wasn’t easy, but I’m so glad I did it. Looking back makes me so sentimental to see how far we’ve come. And truly blows my mind because I almost didn’t believe it was possible. (caption continued in comments)

as y’all may know, I first started making bandanas of Indian fabrics to reclaim my culture and appreciate the artisans’ work that so many overlook and just see as a “pretty” fabric

what isn’t seen or appreciated, is the countless hours of work, craftsmanship, and design behind each thread that makes up these beautiful pieces of art.

I’m so happy and proud to bring back this line to holisticanine and get back into making eco-friendly accessories🍃

did you know that blue spirulina is the extract (phycocyanin) of green spirulina?

phycocyanin promotes animal blood cell regeneration, improves lymphocyte activity and the lymphatic system to improve immune function, and enhances disease resistance!

🍀Happy St. Patrick’s Day🍀

we’re all about green here at holisticanine, so a day where we paint the town green?!! count us in!

here at holisticanine, we use minimal packaging, all products are made of organic + ethically sourced materials, all products are packaged in recyclable/biodegradable or reusable tubes + jars, & all shipping materials from thank you cards to boxes to mailers are all made of recycled materials AND are recyclable + sometimes compostable/biodegradable too!

a recent personal change I’ve made is I’ve started using silicone baking mats instead of aluminum foil! it was such an easy switch and is more affordable in the long run as well + i think my cookies are turning out better on the silicone mats anyways😋🍪

I’m Ketana (kay-tuh-nuh) and Coda is my toy aussie / chief canine officer of holisticanine! we’re based in sunny southern california and have been running HC since summer 2020

some fun facts about me:
🤓i graduated from UCLA with a degree in Psychology (was supposed to get my phd lol) go bruins!💙💛
💪🏽I’m a cancer survivor of almost 4 years!!
💜i think purple is the greatest color to ever exist so now my hair is purple
🍃i am a HUGE foodie and love trying out new vegan spots (lemme know if you have suggestions!!)
🐶i was attacked by two saint bernards when i was a teenager but it didn’t stop me from still being doggo-obsessed :o

did you know february is national pet dental health month?

pet dental health is so important and taking preventative measures early on can help your fur baby live longer and avoid expensive dental procedures later on🍃

kelp is a great superfood to add to your pup’s diet because it helps prevent and remove tartar + plaque!

this is because of a bacteria known as Bacillus lichenformis. this bacteria is found on the surface of kelp and when it releases an enzyme, it eats away at the tartar buildup on teeth!

our kelp supplements comes in powder form, making it quick and easy to add as a meal topper (especially useful for pets who are sensitive to teeth cleaning!)🍃
