Pet grooming & Pet care Hey everyone! My name is Heather Suggitt, I just moved to Carberry, Manitoba this summer (2024) from Vancouver Island, BC.

About myself, Heather Suggitt, Owner, Certified Professional Pet Groomer & Certified Animal Care Aide:

I am a born and raised 'Isl

and Girl' growing up in Errington & Parksville, B.C. I'm a mom, wife and Fur-mom to my amazing family. I was a Highland Dancer for 17 years, rode horseback and played piano for 6 years. I always wanted to work with pets, even as a child so its rather fitting that I become a Professional Pet Groomer after all my endeavors. I became a certified Animal Care Aide in 2010 through North Island College, pursuing my long awaited career in animal care. Becoming a Professional Pet Groomer, I started from the bottom, apprenticing while simultaneously working as a bather-brusher for a year at TransFURmations Mobile Grooming in Victoria, BC. I worked my way toward grooming school at a very popular pet grooming salon in Victoria, BC called Wizard of Paws. While becoming a Professional Pet Groomer, I worked at the salon, learning the ins and outs of running a pet grooming business for 3 years, gaining a vast amount of knowledge & experience. I moved up north to Terrace, BC in 2014 and ran a successful mobile pet grooming business for over a year with the support of my husband and family before moving back to Victoria, BC in 2016. I was quickly hired at Paw Space Pet Boutique & Spa where I groomed, grew clientele & business for 6 years until 2022. I have been running my own business & grooming in the Parksville, BC area since 2022, rounding out my experience in animal care & my pet grooming career to 14 years. In that time, I have groomed approximately 11,520+ dogs, give or take a few hundred. From learning to groom, helping others grow their businesses and owning my own business, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge & experience in the past 14+ years. I am very compassionate about what I do and love doing it every single day. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Open House Day is TODAY! I'm at the shop from 10am-2pm today for meet n' greets, appointment booking and nail trimming.

Main Street is closed from 3rd to 4th Ave from 2pm and on today. There is parking behind the credit union if needed.

Please be mindful of the large extension cords that are running on the ground around my shop. Please please please be very careful around them.

The Fur Factory is opening soon!!!

I have secured a space in Carberry, MB at the Bailey building! Next week I will be doing some light renovations before opening as I have been delayed by a nasty cold. Regardless, we will be open before Christmas!

November 25, 2024 is open house day! Stop by, say hello, check out the grooming shop, to answer any questions or inquiries and start booking appointments.

I will have flyers and business cards out at various places around Carberry by the end of day tomorrow. Carberry Small Animal Veterinary Clinic will be by first stop, the market on Main street, Spud City and Meyers Meats as well.

Hey all! I hope you've been enjoying this amazing weather as much as I have! Moving is moving along. We pushed back moving our stuff a few weeks to give us more time which was much needed! And very soon I can actually start relaxing 😁

Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year!

A couple of announcements:

I will be away on Christmas Holidays from now until January 12th. I will return calls, messages and emails when I am back in January. If you are looking for grooming, the soonest I have available is February. I can add you to my cancellation list and if someone cancels, I can give you a shout but there’s no guarantees.

And finally, I do apologize for leaving everyone hanging in anticipation of my big announcement that I had made back in October but I will no longer keep you all on your toes! My family and I are moving to Manitoba in the New Year!! Which unfortunately means I will be closing Paws for Thought Pet Grooming in Parksville and saying good-bye to all of you lovely people and your adorable dogs. I plan to keep grooming at K9 Healthy Smiles until the spring of 2024 and so I’m not leaving you all totally in the lurch, I also plan to make a list of groomers to recommend that are in the area and are accepting new clients which I will post when I am back to work in the New Year so you all have lots of time to start booking appointments ahead of time.

Currently, Stephanie at Stephanie’s Groom Room is adding to her client list. She is also looking at expanding from only Doodles and accepting double-coated breeds for Bath & Tidy’s now too! She does have a weight limit of 120 lbs. If you live in Errington, Whiskey Creek or Qualicum, she's your gal!!! Because she grooms out of her home, her group and information is private but Stephanie will leave her information for you all in the comments below and if you have any troubles getting a hold of her, let me know and we can coordinate.

You have all been so kind and trusting, I have had such a great time grooming all of your wonderful pets and I would like to thank you all for your support! I couldn’t have done it without you all!

Oh my, have I been busy!!! I am going to be slowing my schedule down going forward for a few reasons:
1. So I can have my sanity back 🤪 lol
2. So I can focus on posting photos again since I have lots but have been too busy to post them and
3. Some good news for me and my little family but I will announce once my schedule starts to slow down and I am more organized to share my news, which will hopefully be soon!
Just so everyone knows what days of the w**d I plan to stick to; I am going to aim to grooming on Sunday's, Monday's and the odd Tuesday if its needed.
