Here's the expo information for Sunday's show! Won't know what tables we are at til we get there but look forward to seeing some faces and meeting you all! Strawberry Shortcake and Shooter sealed the deal on 1/18/25! Here's hoping for more of my favorite baby species: Hyllus diardi.

Okay so here's some lineage for those that are interested:

Strawberry Shortcake is the daughter of Lemon Poppy and Orie.
Lemon Poppy was the daughter of Muffin and Luda.
Orie was the son of Anastasia and Orion.
Muffin was the daughter of Waffle and Vader.
Luda was the son of Echo and Silas.
Waffle was the daughter of Iris.

Shooter was the son of Pistol and Merek.
Pistol came from a clutch of babies that another breeder had from a wild caught mom who sold the babies to a pet store in California. My friend heard about it and was able to secure a bunch of babies. She sent me 5 of them and Pistol was one.
Pistol paired with Merek who was a Popple and Darth son.
I received Popple from another breeder I used to work with.
Darth was the son of Scary Larry and Large Marge.

So glad I have an app that keeps track of all this 🤪

🚨🚨🚨I have posted this many times in the past, but I feel it's overdue for another PSA.

☠️ Topical flea/tick treatment on dogs and cats can quite literally KILL your jumping spider. Every single spider I sell comes with a care sheet and there is a section in that care sheet that goes over topical treatments.

☠️ Once dogs are treated with this topical liquid, they shed the Fipronil chemical in their fur and dander for up to 8 weeks, possibly even longer. The dander and shed travels throughout the air, on hands, on clothing, etc. If your spider comes in contact with this toxic chemical, whether directly or indirectly, you will start to see DKS symptoms (Dyskinetic Syndrome). DKS from Fipronil poisoning is almost ALWAYS fatal, includes the suffering inability to control their motor movements, and is extremely difficult to watch. In the end, the spider dies, but it doesn't happen quickly. It's a long, drawn out, and difficult neurotoxicity situation to watch and can take a few days to a week or longer to fully kill your spider.

😔 I know all this information as I have had it happen to me. A few years ago, I boarded a dog that I did not know was on topical flea/tick prevention. The owner administered it the week prior to boarding. I lost 7 of my favorite spiders that week and an old friend who was over visiting with her spiders lost her 4 as well. All from DKS due to Fipronil poisoning. It was a terribly depressing and awful week.

🔄 How do you avoid this if you need your dogs and cats to be on flea and tick prevention? Switch to a chewable flea/tick treatment (pills or chewables) as they do not have the same effect on spiders. I have 4 dogs. All 4 of my dogs are on the chewable and I have an entire house full of inverts.

🙏🏼 Please! These spiders are relying on you with their life. Switch to a chewable or do not adopt a spider! I beg you!

Finished a couple 4x4x5 custom enclosures tonight for a customer!

I'm not happy about this and neither are my spiders because they are really waiting for their forever homes, but it looks like I won't be able to ship again next Tuesday with the weather being so low. Some places are reporting that it's going to be a low of 8°. There's no way I'm shipping my babies in that weather. Also combine the weather with the fires in California, and there's a recipe for disaster out west with delays.

Unfortunately I won't be able to start taking orders again until Tuesday January 28th for the following Tuesday February 4th ship date and that's ONLY if the weather cooperates.

It's too cold to ship next Tuesday, and the weekend after that is my expo and I always close orders that week to prepare. Expo details are in the events page, but I will be at Oaks, PA on Saturday January 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

And as always, I am still accepting pickup spider orders and enclosure/accessory orders for pickup OR shipping are still open!

This tiny memorial dome is for Miracle. She finally was put to rest in her final resting place. Due to her mismolt, she did not dry out well but she's still beautiful to me.

For those that remember Miracle, she was a female Paraphidippus fartilis that got stuck in her subadult molt. I had to help her out of it which took quite some time as she was really stuck. Unfortunately she lost 3 legs and both palps. She was such a fighter and had such a strong will to live. I hand fed her every single night for nearly a month to get her to her next molt. Our bond was deep. She made it to her adult molt but unfortunately got stuck yet again. I had to help her out of that molt as well. She regrew both of her palps and two of her legs but the other side was completely mangled. Unfortunately after a couple hours, she passed. Included in her little memorial dome is her final adult helmet. I miss her terribly 💔
She was incredibly sweet and sassy!
