All rescue dogs are special. I have met many during my time but one very special girl captured my heart the moment I met her. Winey was just 19 weeks old and was going to be euthanized due to serious health complications which her owners could no longer afford to continue to investigate. A call from the vet for help, resulted in Mary Lynda and I collecting her. She was extremely poorly and her parents agreed to foster her whilst she underwent investigations at our local veterinary practice. It took a good year before there was a noticeable improvement, by which time, Her parents had agreed to adopt Winey, More complications arose which meant a couple of trips to a referral practice. The referral vet was of the opinion that Winey was unlikely to fully recover and that we should take her home and spoil her for the short time she had left. What they had underestimated however, was Wineys stoicism and her love of life and she continued to improve on antibiotics.
Although Winey had regular visits to the vets thereafter, when she was good, she was really good! Her last major set back was nearly 2 years ago when she was rushed to a referral vet with a twisted intestine. Winey was supported by the Charity financially for her health issues and we stepped in again and Winey underwent life saving surgery. Things were touch and go but again Winey astounded us all with her bravery and determination and came home a very happy healthy girl.
Winey is now in perfect conditions ❤️❤️
