Real Quick: Why do Animal Transporters or any goods transportation service charge what they do?

1. Fuel
2. Time
3. Degree of Difficulty
4. Experience
5. Vehicle Maintenance
6. Driver Salaries
***7. The biggest expense people often over look or don’t understand, the depreciation of a valuable asset.
The vehicles we drive cost sometimes in excess of $70k+. In a year when this vehicle becomes inoperable because of the amount of mileage we have been driving to get this precious cargo where they belong, everyone that we work with expects us to be able to replace this vehicle immediately. In order to do this we have to factor this in to the total equation. Many new transporters don’t factor this in, I have been doing this for a long time and have seen many of them go upside down quickly.

Please also keep in mind, freight carriers who carry still freight cargo often times charge in excess of $3-4 per mile depending on vehicle driven. They aren’t carrying lives, just goods.
