So I’m a bit late with my weekend update with the 🍊🐴
It was that time of the month to shine (or shrink into the background and hope no one saw us!) and go dancing!
So it’s early stages for her so we’re certainly nowhere near GP (couldn’t be further away 🤣🤣) I need to work on her tension once we get into the test arena, so that she isn’t interested in absolutely everything else but what I’m asking.
The 🍊🐴 warmed up so well, much calmer and overall nicer than last time and no moments of “I need to kill you, someone or myself”. Really calm and chilled. Think my decision late Saturday night to change her bit made major steps forward (need to trust my gut instinct more)
So the first test - the first half was a nightmare of me just saying quietly “ffs Ginge please chill tf out” but as soon as she changed the rein at free walk on a long rein, she let out the biggest sigh and released all her tension. The remains of the test was much better. Alas we came last.
Second test came after a leisurely spot of lunch for her on the trailer - yes this is THE FIRST time she’s EVER eaten on the trailer: travelling there, standing on the trailer (calmly I may add) and on the way home!
She went into the test a different horse: listened to me, no tension, no nosiness, just listening to what I asked - 🍊🐴 only went and won it!
She wore her Horzehoods Ltd competition pad for the first time - although as it was relaxed rules re dress code, we wore it with the flexibadge facing out instead of the numbers, it’s a super smart pad just love the colour in her too 🥰🥰 and the flexitabz made it easy to attach her half pad as well. Really love this pad.
2 weeks till her next outing!! Let’s see if we can build on this.
