Its_all_a_bit_Ginge I’ve owned Clovers Ginger Ninja aka Ginge since January 2018 when she was rising 2 and we’ve just started backing her.

She’s such an easy going girl who has a fantastic attitude to life.

The 🍊🐴 was actual excited to come out if the stable this morning. Her 2 days box rest is over and she can come out to start her normal turn out routine.

She’s usually obstinate and has to be dragged out with her head collar but she stomped her way out soon as I opened the door.

Take it the sun enticed her out.

God the horsey world can be a nightmare at times 😭 Find someone you can trust!!! So it doesn’t matter how long you’ve known someone if you have doubts about their opinion/view.

So Ginge hasn’t been right for a while but I was told it was just a strength issue and to push her.

I decided to get E GREEN Animal Physiotherapy out (had the appointment booked for ages (nearly 7wks from making contact to a date that was good for us both) and no wonder cos she’s amazing!)

So I had 2 main questions if she could help me with them or if it was completely irrelevant.

Both questions were very relevant and both linked. She instantly said Ginge was lame behind and to get her to the vets for a full on lameness work up as soon as - I booked it the same day she came but wasn’t for over a week.

So yesterday was the day for Ginge to see the vet. By chance I randomly bumped into Laura and Elle Walker in the car park and had a chat - Ginge was having issues that Elles boy had had and showing the same behaviour. She told me all about her boys journey and how fantastic he feels now - and saw the videos he looks a different horse 😍

I had a chat with the vet about Ginge, what we’ve done since backing/issues I’ve found/got. She watched her work up on the lunge and instantly said she’s got stifle issues. We agreed to ultrasound them and go from there. Treatment was the same plan as Elle had gone thru so it seemed to be fate to chat it thru with her before the vet as kind of made the decision much easier to make.

So Ginge was a very good girl and didnt try to kill any of the vets or nurses yesterday - considering the location those needles were going and how she’s not a huge fan of her back legs being faffed with. She’s had both her stifles treated and her sacro - jeez that needle is mahoosive kinda freaked me out.

Time will tell how it works for her. She should start to feel better in 10 days ish and I should see improvement in around 3-4 weeks.

We’ve a long road ahead of rehab work (min 6-8 weeks) which starts with a few days box rest - swear Ginge perked up when she heard that news as Ginge loves her stable 🥰 A nice big fresh Unibed - High Performance Equine Bedding bed and all she’s done is sleep last night (yes I’ve stalked her on the cctv)

Keep everything crossed for her. Xx

So I’m a bit late with my weekend update with the 🍊🐴
It was that time of the month to shine (or shrink into the background and hope no one saw us!) and go dancing!

So it’s early stages for her so we’re certainly nowhere near GP (couldn’t be further away 🤣🤣) I need to work on her tension once we get into the test arena, so that she isn’t interested in absolutely everything else but what I’m asking.

The 🍊🐴 warmed up so well, much calmer and overall nicer than last time and no moments of “I need to kill you, someone or myself”. Really calm and chilled. Think my decision late Saturday night to change her bit made major steps forward (need to trust my gut instinct more)

So the first test - the first half was a nightmare of me just saying quietly “ffs Ginge please chill tf out” but as soon as she changed the rein at free walk on a long rein, she let out the biggest sigh and released all her tension. The remains of the test was much better. Alas we came last.

Second test came after a leisurely spot of lunch for her on the trailer - yes this is THE FIRST time she’s EVER eaten on the trailer: travelling there, standing on the trailer (calmly I may add) and on the way home!

She went into the test a different horse: listened to me, no tension, no nosiness, just listening to what I asked - 🍊🐴 only went and won it!

She wore her Horzehoods Ltd competition pad for the first time - although as it was relaxed rules re dress code, we wore it with the flexibadge facing out instead of the numbers, it’s a super smart pad just love the colour in her too 🥰🥰 and the flexitabz made it easy to attach her half pad as well. Really love this pad.

2 weeks till her next outing!! Let’s see if we can build on this.

The Ginge was chosen as Horzehoods Ltd “customer influencer” for their new competition pads with reversible flexibadge kits and flexitabz!

This beautiful brown dressage pad arrived today (and of cause a positive carrot Kenny the Carrot’s Adventures - HORZEHOODS Mascot)

Training or competing were covered!!!!

If you know, you’ll know, I now need the matching jump pad now and matching ears 🤣

Bring on my next lesson to try it out AND our next competition 🤩🤩🥰🥰😍😍

How has 4yrs passed since this little girl became mine and arrived at my yard???

Very biased but I think she’s turned into a stunning Ginge 🍊 🐴 (her ears need to stop growing 🤣🤣)

Treated her to a Stud Muffins cake to celebrate. She was a good girl and agreed to share with her friends 🤣🤣

This is what makes me happy. This is what I need more of. My girls are my happy place and makes me mentally feel better. They are good for the heart and the soul.

She just makes my day!! I love love love her 🥰🤩

The Ginge is just becoming stronger by the day.

Last year, before she had a little break she was struggling to get right canter lead in the arena. I gave up worrying about it and knew it would come with time so not to stress, just got her out hacking and forgot about it.

Took her in the arena today on the lunge.
A beautiful flowing free and loose left canter followed by change of rein. She’s so much more balanced and able to carry herself better, she managed multiple right canter transitions.

So excited for this year with her

🧡🧡 Today was a big day for the Ginge 🧡🧡

Ginge has been fluffing up this last week or two, so was in need of a good haircut and tidy up.

This is her FIRST full clip without ANY sedation. Slow and steady wins the race but helps that I have the Liveryman black beauty cordless clippers - certainly the best investment for her!

Before
During including 🤦🏼‍♀️moment - word of warning DONT let them roll in a Horseware Rambo dry rug it really is a total nightmare to clean off
