💡 ✨ Wednesday Wisdom! ✨💡

People often ask, “how soon after I get a puppy do I begin training?” and my answer is “as soon as you bring your pup home”. You see everything we do with our dog from the first day, we are either allowing good behavior or bad behavior. If my puppy is jumping on me for attention and it’s just soooooooo cute, so I just have to shower her with attention, then I’m rewarding her for jumping and unknowingly encouraging it. If my puppy is left unsupervised and chewing up stuff, I’m allowing that behavior. If my puppy drinks a bunch of water and then goes off into the next room unsupervised and pees, I’ve allowed that. Providing structure from the very beginning, setting up boundaries will set your pup up for success! Remember…𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕠𝕨 𝕚𝕤 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕔𝕠𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕦𝕖!

Fun fact Friday! 🤓

Anatolian Shepherds are live stock guarding dogs (LGD). Unlike herding dogs which are used to control movement in livestock. Livestock guardian dogs are used to protect. They blend in within the flock watching for intruders! 👀

Meet one of our own LGDs, River Blue! He is an Anatolian shepherd. He is in charge of watching over and protecting our livestock..You may see him out in the pastures hanging with our goats, chickens, sheep or horses. He is the bestest boy!!!

Darcy! A 6 month old German Shepherd with us for our 2 week basic obedience program. She is practicing place command at the vet on the scale and at Lowe’s on some firewood! Then she is rocking her down stay in front of the Christmas display, we are proud of this girls progress! 🤩
