A 7/8-week-old pup urgently needs our help. She came into their care lethargic and with a heavy worm burden, but it quickly became clear that there were more severe issues. Named “Margo” by the vets, she was rushed to UCD Veterinary Hospital, where she remains critically ill. Margo is undergoing intensive tests, including lung x-rays and blood work to check her liver and kidneys. She is receiving round-the-clock fluids and temperature monitoring. Her breathing is compromised, and she has a slight heart murmur, which the vets hope will resolve without intervention.

The cost for her life-saving care, tests, and hospitalization is estimated at €2,000 to €2,500. 🤬 URGENT: New Euthanasia Policy for Restricted Breed Dogs in Dublin 🤬

Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Council has decided that all dogs listed as Restricted Breeds (like Shepherds, Staffies, American Pitbulls, etc.) entering the Dublin County Dog Shelter will be put down within five days. These dogs can’t be rehomed or sent to Rescue Organizations.

Who’s behind this decision, and how is this even allowed?

This news came from Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Council to a Dublin Rescue group.

The hardworking staff at the Dublin County Pound, who do their best to care for and rehome these dogs, are absolutely heartbroken by this. This policy is only from Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Council.

Hi Keith, I’m just wondering if you could help. I’m left in a sticky situation. I got a phone call today about a springer going to be shot tomorrow did I know anyone that would take him, he’s roughly I think 6 or 7 he’s a sweet little man I would take him but I have no room for dogs in my flat, the reason I was told to why this dog is gonna be shot is because he starting fighting with another springer (his brother) over a water dish now in my opinion I’d say the dog was standing up for its self but I’m just wondering would you know anyone willing to take on a lovely little fella like him, his name is rocco I will send you pics of him

🚨 URGENT 🚨 ANIMAL ABUSE

This unfortunate old dog was found in the Duncormic area of Wexford this evening, almost blind, completely matted suffering from urine scald and very hungry.

The dog is now in the care of the WSPCA.
