I’ve been sort of re-evaluating my journey as a shop owner. I see so many talented makers creating gorgeous gear for your pups and It inspired me explore my creative side.

A long time ago in a faraway land, I had an Etsy shop called Stained Splinters. I loved making wood home decor. But, when I started struggling due to RA, I had to take a break.

Since I’ve discovered resin and epoxy, I’ve been excited to create again. I’m still working on how Comfy Cozy Pooch fits into the equation.

I’m definitely going to keep designing and making dog tags we’ll be adding more dog mom tumblers, too. I’m even learning to make custom epoxy dog bowls. I mean who doesn’t want a blinged out, glittery dog bowl?

Filling tumbler orders has been keeping me pretty busy. So I haven’t been checking in very often.

So here’s glimpse of what I’ve been up to. If you’d like a custom tumbler, you can definitely message me since they aren’t listed anywhere yet.

So with the start of this brand new month, we’re doing a new thing. Custom tumblers are coming to the shop soon!

I love creating these because the possibilities are truly endless. Add names, pictures, choose your color, glam it up with glitter, or keep it low-key with some water color - like this Dog Mom cup.

They do take forever to make, though and can’t ship out for 72 hours once they’re completed. But, they’re worth the wait. 😉

Decisions, decisions…

Which one would you prefer? The first, with the macrame hanger or the second with the ribbon hanger?

I got excited about the macrame hanger because I finally mastered the “crown knot” but now seeing them side by side like this, I think I like the chunky ribbon better.

What do you think?

this one’s for you, so your opinion holds a ton of weight. 😆

I started with the intention of creating a tree ornament, but now I feel like it’s something that could be displayed all year long- as a door hanger or on a key hook or really wherever.

I feel like I’m rediscovering myself. Years ago, I had a little shop called Stained Splinters. We were on Etsy and did local farmers markets. I was still teaching full time, so it was more of a hobby than a business. I loved woodworking.

Now, I find myself bringing back some of those old skills for Comfy Cozy Pooch and it’s been fun playing with new designs.

What do you guys think? Should I keep ‘em coming or stick to tags and tees and things?

With 4 dogs, a knock on our front door is an event of epic proportions! It’s a symphony of barks, howls, and even excited puppy cries.

𝙳𝚘𝚐𝚜, 𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚜, 𝙲𝚘𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚎

Because who needs more than that?

Every year when school starts, I reread 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘥𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘛𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘦 by Kate DiCamillo. It was the first book we read as a class every year when I was teaching. I just love it so much.
Even though it's a children's book, no matter how old you are - it’s a must read. Full of important life lessons, this heartfelt tales takes you on Edward’s journey to a selfless kind of love, while teaching humility, kindness, and acceptance.

Since it's Positive Thinking Day, (and Monday), I'd like to remind you why you're working so hard. Your pooch is worth it!

What's your day job? Is it the same as it was before the pandemic started?

I work full time on building Comfy Cozy Pooch. Before this, I quit classroom teaching to grow my after school enrichment program which taught student STEM using legos. It was a fun time. We had 5 schools, full classes, and I was getting ready to hire new teachers and expand into additional schools. Then Covid happened, so I switched gears. Now, I get to look forward to new growth and opportunities.

I absolutely remember each and every life lost and the insurmountable devastation suffered on 9/11. Even after 20 years, so many haven’t and will never recover from losses suffered that day.

Still, when I look back, I also remember the selfless heroism, the unbreakable American 🇺🇸 pride, the incredible sense of community and brotherhood, and the remarkably tender and loving hearts of neighbors who once were strangers.

I remember a nation United. I think it’s important for us all to remember that.

Senator John Kerry said it best, “It was the worst day we have ever seen, but it brought out the best in all of us.”

Also, draw inspiration from our 4 legged selfless heroes.
“For more than two weeks after the twin towers collapsed on 9/11, hundreds of search and rescue dogs hunted for signs of life in the smoldering ruins.”

If you live in the area, and have a chance, try to visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in Lower Manhattan where the “K-9 Courage” exhibit will be on display through Spring 2022.

We have 4 dogs, 2 of them are puppies < 9 months old. Everything is about them. So much so, in fact, that I opened a business focused around dogs. Even my parents call me crazy. 🤣

This is .doodle . She’s one of our beautiful models! Her mom rescued her on 6/07/21.

Kona’s mom is often asked, “Which breeder did you use?” No one can tell that this sweet, beautiful girl used to be in a shelter because her mom takes such great care of her. Check out her profile to see what a pretty fashionista she has become!

When I heard Kona was rescued, I was inspired. So, from now on, each month Comfy Cozy Pooch will be giving away a custom tag from any of our collections to one lucky, rescued pup.
