We are delighted to share the results of a remarkable partnership with Paws with Love - Tierschutzverein Herzverstand and the family of Mr. John Chandris this past November.

Together, we accomplished an impressive ⭐️354 high quality spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations and dewormings ⭐️ in just 3.5 days. This figure does not account for additional specialized surgeries such as enucleations and wound management. All dogs were tested for leishmaniasis and tick borne diseases.

📚 As always, we welcomed junior high school students, who were given a tour of the clinic and had a Q&A with Dr. Anna Katogiritis. VGA encouraged the students to volunteer with local animal welfare groups.

🐶This was the first time a VGA () took place in the region. The initiative was organized under the auspices of the City Hall of Ermionida. A space rented and provided by Mr. Chandris was transformed into a fully functioning clinic, equipped with supplies purchased by the Chandris family and .

❤️We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Andreas and Nurse Janina for their exceptional efforts in preparing the facility before the arrival of the rest of the medical team. Additionally, we appreciated the invaluable presence and hard work of municipal veterinarian Dr. Zoe Georgiadou, who ensured that all stray animals (both dogs and cats) were carefully checked in and out.

❤️We would like to express our gratitude to the Greek Animal Rescue for covering the airfare for two outstanding nurses from the UK, while Greater Good Charities generously sponsored the airfare for a veterinarian. The Chandris family also contributed by covering the airfare for veterinarians and nurses traveling from Germany, and VGA facilitated airfare from the U.S. We are immensely grateful for all the support received, which made this impactful initiative possible.

⭐️A special shout out goes to volunteers Roi Generali ( ), Areri Souhla, Polina Farmaki, Elpida Rozou who manned the front desk with incredible enthusiasm.

⭐️2024 was a special year for VGA, as we formed new partnerships and welcomed additional enthusiastic and experienced volunteers. A key highlight was our collaboration with Greater Good Charities, which provided with a grant. Their support allowed us to acquire essential medical equipment, including 2 portable anesthetic machines and 1 steam autoclave.

Together with our dedicated team and partners, we made a meaningful difference in providing medical care and hope to those in need, showcasing the benefits of collaboration. We especially thank Dr. Ruth Parkins and Dr. Filipe Dias of Greater Good Charities for volunteering their time with us in November.

⭐️The programs VGA successfully implemented in 🇬🇷 represent a initiative in the country, adhering to rigorous medical protocols while transforming vacant spaces into fully operational clinics.

Our campaigns not only focus on performing high-quality spay/neuter surgeries, but also prioritize the overall well-being of the animals entrusted to our care by offering essential surgeries, treatments and aftercare.

We hold a steadfast belief that stray and wild animals deserve access to the BEST medical care, irrespective of their circumstances, and we are committed to making a meaningful difference in their lives❤️

📚As always, inspiring youth and allowing kids to be involved in our programs will always be a priority for VGA. Longterm improvement in animal welfare practices may only be accomplished by investing in the future: children.

❤️Amazing volunteer team work from everyone has resulted and a successful program thus far, with high quality spays/neuters, special procedures, vaccinations and deworming.

With over 160 surgeries completed so far, we are moving on to the 3rd day of our program in collaboration with and with the support of , , . The program is done under the auspices of the Municipality of Ermionida.

VGA follows all local regulations and we are extremely thankful for the support of all the locals who have been trapping and bringing in animals daily 🙏🏻❤️

Dr. Rebecca McLean is on her way to to volunteer with Veterinary Global Aid. Before she left the U.S. she was able to inspire and encourage the leadership team of her hospital to be part of our efforts by contributing much needed donations! They did not require much convincing, as they were immediately keen on helping.

Bay Country Veterinary Hospital (Annapolis, Maryland), Blue River Pet Care ( ) and Zoetis donated a good amount of brand new antibiotics, IV catheters, and other new consumables… along with a number of much needed used surgical tools and a fluid pump.

Thank you is not enough o express our gratitude for their immense support! We will be sharing more about this donation soon. ❤️

🥳Can we give a big shout out to Valley Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center(Winchester, Virginia, USA) for donating a large amount of brand new veterinary consumables for VGA’s pro bono work? 🙌🏻

not only donated supplies, but we were fortunate enough to have 2 of the hospital’s nurses (Elaine and Christine) volunteer during our July programs. Their work ethic and compassion for the cats we treated added incredible value to our campaign😻

❓ Who: we are looking for exceptional veterinary nurses (3 spots remaining) who have a passion for nursing care and have experience with anaesthesia and surgery prep. This is an intense 4 day program on a island.

📌Note: only licensed veterinarians from the EU, who hold a Greek permit are allowed to perform surgeries during our Greek programs. A minimum of 2 years surgical experience is required. Veterinary students are welcome to assist with other aspects of the program but may not perform surgical procedures.

Veterinary Global Aid, Inc (VGA), is a 501c3 registered non profit based in Washington DC. VGA was founded by Dr. Anna Katogiritis with the goal of providing pro-bono veterinary care to animals in need internationally, while also empowering kids and youth to take positive action for the animals within their communities. Dr. Anna's volunteer work has been featured in numerous media outlets over the years, including CNN Travel and has awarded her the "40 under 40" philanthropic award by the Greek America Foundation. Having worked closely with Dr. Jane Goodall (DBE, UN Messenger of Peace), Dr. Anna believes that if we want to achieve a long lasting positive impact for the animals we must include youth in the process and inspire and empower them to take action as well. For this reason, VGA invests heavily its time and resources to educate youth during each of its international campaigns.

In addition, VGA provides training opportunities for veterinarians and consultations for complex veterinary cases, as the organization recognizes that not all veterinarians across the globe have access to specialty care. VGA strives to provide excellence of care to domestic and wild animals and for this reason all veterinarians and nurses who participate as volunteers are required to have a minimum 2 years experience and undergo interviews to assess their knowledge and comfort level.

🐱Happy International Cat Day ❤️

Millions of stray cats are in dire need of veterinary care, and a forever loving home. Help us provide much needed medical care to more cats in need around the globe by supporting our work.

This past month, our animal welfare program ended in Greece with more than 180 cats helped and provided with spay/neuters, vaccinations, deworming and other essential surgeries.

💦Please consider providing water for the strays and wildlife in need.

This video was sent to us by a friend in , where the temperature today especially is high.

📸Notice the 6 month old kitten is breathing with his mouth open due to the extreme heat.

Animals are suffering in the heat, especially in cities where it is more difficult to find water.

💦 please place small buckets of fresh water in accessible and safe spaces. It is the least we can do ❤️🙏🏻
