Gamille Advocate for animals in the Giza Prymid area. Hello my name is Gamille. I now live at EEA full time where I am well taken care of and loved. My past was not good. I struggled as all of us do here in Egypt.

We all have our stories to tell. I will tell you mine on my page.

We havecgained many followers in 2021. Gamille and I thank you for taking notice as to what is happening in Egypt. We are still fighting hard to have laws changed. Its still a long road. We sincerely appreciate your support and anything helps. Spreading awareness being huge. Please keep sharing and lets hope 2022 brings us much needed change for the beautiful horses, donkeys, camels and all animals that reside here. I will keep updating here now that xmas is over and Gamille is in his permanent home and life is a little less busy.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!!

Rouqayah’s Ranch to diversify to become Rouqayah’s Retirement Resource!.

This year, I completed 12 years of owning and running the Ranch (always a somewhat grandiose title for it!), during which time we have been most famous for our beef and poultry. However, over the past couple of years, I have had less and less desire to see my animals, all of whom are named, loved and pampered, slaughtered. The last three slaughters had been very difficult for me and I resolved that they would be the last, without any real alternative plan. Should I sell up and leave Egypt? Should I rent the place? Should I just enjoy it without expecting any income from it? Should I…. and the ponderings went on and on!
I have for many years been a supporter and friend of Egypt Equine Aid, and carry donations over from the UK as often as I can. I follow the daily trials and tribulations, and have for some time been thinking about how I could contribute more than just carrying all those suitcases through customs at Cairo, an adventure in itself! Then it came to me….. I could diversify away from slaughtering into saving! I could offer EEA a move on resource for the horses that have become permanent residents and are taking up space that is needed for the medical cases. The climate up here is far nicer for the horses, we have two large areas in which we will be building track systems (probably only such resource in Egypt) and a farm manager who has been fully trained in caring for my own horses in the most natural way possible, given our environment. Our horses live out full time, are barefoot, fed home grown barseem (Egyptian clover), fresh or dried, and have water in front of them 24 hours a day. We even have an equine vet visit monthly or more often if required. You can see our set up on the website www.rouqayahsranch.com
The first five horses are ready to be moved as soon as the funding is in place. Each horse will cost US$200, £150, €175, AUD 275 per month, inclusive of all expenses, such as farrier, routine treatments, feeding and care. Horses can be fully funded by individuals or a group of friends/family/colleagues, or donations can be attributed by us to a particular horse. As a donor, you will receive regular updates on your horse including photos.
So… who is in! I am in need of the following:
• Someone to help organise the donations/sponsorship.
• Practical help to prepare the place for our new residents.
• Donations to help fund the changes.
• Sponsorship for individual horses.
• Setting up a volunteer programme for those who visit to come and stay for a while to help out
Please contact me via the page “RouqayahsRanch,” Whatsapp 00447930531910, or email me [email protected] for more information or to offer support. Please also feel at liberty to contact Jill Barton at Egypt Equine Aid to verify the details of this exciting new development!

🕊 Each of our days is marked with sadness and loss for our darling boy who was found in the sunshine
🕯 We know that each of you find this as devastating as we do, and rightfully ask when will these laws finally be passed? When will progress finally be made in Egypt?
📑 We thought it would be a good opportunity to give you all an update on our progress in the last 2 months.
🟢 We have completed our initial feasibility study, demonstrating that there is an appetite within the Egyptian government to pass laws that will benefit the economy of the country, including animal welfare law
🟡 We have put together a high level strategy and overview of the entire law advocacy project, having drawn up an 8 stage plan to effect change
🟣 We have drafted an outline of the advocacy strategy document, setting out our multi-faceted strategy, which includes about 50 different advocacy ideas to effect law change
🟠 We have developed a comprehensive contact log, setting out almost a hundred contacts that we need to reach out to in order to gain momentum with the law reform (a drop in the ocean compared to the approximately 500 people we plan to contact). Key contact is already under way
🔵 We have began an analysis on the laws in 22 surrounding countries, to get an idea of where Egypt sits relative to these other countries
🌻 We look forward with our work and try to honour Roiby's life by doing the very best that we can, in loving memory
🤓 At this stage in our journey, we put the call out for voluntary assistance: we are looking for people who have experience in communications and public relations, in research and economic analysis, in law, experienced fundraisers, in videography and graphic design and in designing advocacy campaigns
📧 If you have experience in any of these fields and have a consistent amount of time to volunteer (short term and longer term volunteer projects are available), are self-motivated and passionate about animal welfare and law reform, please email [email protected] to register your interest or for further information
❤ Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts

Its a very sad time here. We have lost our beloved Roibos Sunshine. May he rest in peace. We have to keep fighting-for law reform. This is his legacy.

Love Gamille and Serena.

This lucky little donkey came to EEA just in time. Vet Farah removed a squamous cell carcinoma from her eye. The tumor had started to make her blind but after surgery she regained most of her sight. Please support our work so we can continue helping the poor hardworking donkeys of Egypt. 💔

A very sad update…… despite huge efforts by our team this poor little 7up foal failed to improve and the decision was made to let him go. On post mortem amongst other problems our vets found one lung completely fibrosed (I guess this is what a can of 7up can do to lungs 😑) RIP little fellow at least you knew love at the end and are spared from a lifetime of ignorance and hard work.

🥇 Today we'd like to draw your awareness to the Giza 2030 strategy
🐴 We are delighted that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in Egypt are working towards a strategy which bans all horse and camel rides and carriage rides within the pyramids
💫 They've even gone a step further and will require that all working animals in the area pass vet welfare checks so that tourists can be guaranteed a happy, healthy working animal
🕊 We commend the Egyptian government and the President for this giant leap forward and we know that we are on the same page as we work towards guaranteeing these rights for all animals at law in Egypt
🧊 This is the tip of the iceberg and we are working towards monumental change for animals in Egypt
