Poppy 🐶 Can’t believe it was 1 year ago that we got our sister girls out of Ukr@ine from the dearest small-scale quality breeder and welcomed them to our home 🥲

We had to jump a lot of hoops to get them and it was all rather risky (to say the least), but it panned out in the end and we’re able to introduce you all to these fantastic new bloodlines that aren’t readily available otherwise. Their breeder was very grateful to us, and we are likewise overwhelmingly pleased! Upon initial greeting we were overjoyed with the result, and after 1 year we can say that these two girls have exceeded our expectations to say the least. Photos and videos don’t do them justice!

This post mostly features “Poppy” - Querol of First Capital, owned and loved by BJ. Photos are of Poppy in her hometown as a young teenager, her lineage, the process of welcoming her into the USA, and then our first day home in Maryland 🇺🇸 She has only gotten more beautiful from there! What a happy day for all—we were over the moon! Jordan got Poppy’s sister “Nautica” - Quickstep of First Capital - which we featured in a different post. They’ve since passed our thorough health testing to be bred and we look forward to their first litters with us.

Nautica 🐶 Can’t believe it was 1 year ago that we got our sister girls out of Ukr@ine from the dearest small-scale quality breeder and welcomed them to our home 🥲

We are forever fans of Chowder 😍 We still remember his family coming to pick him out—they needed a high potential service dog and Chowder fit the bill! He was one of our higher energy pups with a strong determination. Our dogs bring such great joy into the homes they enter, and Chowder doubles as a companion and certified service dog now—he looks out for his person in multiple trained ways and does a fantastic job. His owner took his potential and made him shine!

2 things you probably didn’t know 🥹

1. Did you know this video was of our girl Foxy as a puppy? She has always been a calm girl who loves to be pet 😍

2. How she got her name. She always acted so sweetly special that we knew she had to have a special name with a lot of meaning for us. I had been reserving a special name for just such a dog that acted this way. We named her after a favorite childhood canine character from the book “Foxy” by author Helen Griffith. The Foxy in her book had our hearts, and when this Zina and Aaron daughter acted like this we knew she’d fit the special name Foxy!

Foxy is now one of our retired adults, sweet and calm as ever, and she is looking for her new family to love.
