A Simple Song
Song by Chris Stapleton
Daisy Moo is doing so well with her healthy bull calf! Thurston's first time out in the sunshine! It was a mission to get them to the front yard but we were successful. Don't you worry we were able to get them back in before the nasty weather rolled in.
Everlasting Love
Song by Love Affair
June Bugs has been learning some fancy moves. Turning The Reserve cCass Champion 2024 Western pleasure horse into a all-rounder. June Bugs is looking good as a dressage mount. I absolutely love how willing this gypsy is to learn.
Oban is officially under saddle! It has taken a while to gain his trust. I'm so happy that my patients have paid off. Look how relaxed this once extremely defensive anxious Mustang has become. Notice I don't have his head in a headlock nor am I worried about my safety. I am so happy we are at this moment. Now it's time to repeat and build on a foundation of movement.
In a World Gone Wrong
Song by Zach Top
Oban is now slowly starting to except weight! I'm not going to rush the process especially because of how defensive he can get. I want Oban to feel safe and confident when I swing my leg over but until then we will take baby steps.
On another note check out how fast he learned the pickup cue!
He is going to be the coolest when he's finished! I have never met a mustang his size. Definitely one I would keep.
Seven Nation Army
Song by The White Stripes
This past weekend Oban went on his first educational field trip! We went to my favorite obstacle course ever! Oban was extremely reactive but willing in the beginning. Oban learned during our session of training that nothing here will hurt him and if he would trust in me we could accomplish anything and everything.
This is Part 1 of Oban's accomplishments! Keep an eye out for Part 2!
Oban won third place for adult in hand! This is his first reaction to all of these obstacles. You are not allowed to practice on the course before the competition. All of his reactions are normal for a first reaction. Stay tuned to the videos after I worked with him. He is truly intelligent and just needed time to process.

Shorty makes the world's most perfect unicorn! I literally feel like I'm flying on this gorgeous Arabian. I think I've had the most fun putting this costume together!
Stargazing
Song by Myles Smith
Oban is truly intelligent I've been saying this for a long time that mustangs are one of the smartest breeds of horse. Oban did not like to be haltered or caught and now he is thriving to please. I'm so proud of him.
Maneater

You can't tell Scooter he's not a quarter horse out here looking ranchy!
New Student!!
Meet Oban a 4 year old BLM Mustang!
June Bug's journey in the last 18 months.
There is a first time for everything. June Bug and I have been working together over the last 18 months. I am so flattered with the horse she has become. I'm still shocked that she's only been broke for 18 months. This young lady has already taken the Reserve Class Champion title for 2024 as a Western Pleasure Horse. This video shows June Bug's first time moments leading up to her now.
Showing against quarter horses that have been bred to move like Pleasure horses and placing in the top... is mind-blowing. This gypsy was not intended to move and look like a pleasure horse. June Bug's talent and willingness to learn set her aside from her roots and is giving the quarter horses a run for their money. This brings me so much joy because it took a lot of hard work and dedication to get where we are now. I'm absolutely in love with how she turned out and who she has become.
June bug is currently being used as a lesson horse. Just to think about the lucky kid that gets to ride this amazing horse.
Something Like That
Song by Tim McGraw
Every year on Labor Day weekend is the Alexandria fair and horse show. I have been attending this fair ever since I was a baby. I try to participate in anything I possibly can to show for my county. This year I was able to show shorty in all of the Arabian classes. I had so much fun that I can't wait for next year. Here is shorty in Arabian Western pleasure placing second! I'm so proud of this big boy knowing this was his first fair show. He carried me with so much confidence and love. I am so grateful Marcel Smith was willing to share her trusty steed with me this weekend. I see not only beauty but the grace that this magnificent boy has to offer.
