Basic Bearded Dragon Information:
Bearded Dragons are one of the more favoured species of lizards that most people start out with due to them being relatively easy to care for and usually easy to tame. A few years ago Bearded Dragons were among the most common pets in British households along with dogs, cats & fish!
Bearded Dragons come from Australia and can be found throughout the country, and are in very high numbers in the wild - they are a solitary species and will only ever typically meet up in the wild to mate or fight, it has been known for multiple to live together in captivity but it should never be recommended.
Bearded Dragons live off a mixed diet of fruit and veg as well as live insects, in the wild they will eat pretty much anything they can but in captivity locusts, crickets and dubia roaches are a good live feeder and veggies such as spring greens & cactus pad can be given as daily staples when it comes to greens. They can eat a lot of different types of fruit but these should be given sparingly.
Bearded Dragons also come in a wide variety of morphs or colours, the one in the image above is a Zero which is typically a sold white animal but you can get morphs that are more common; red, orange, yellow and even black.
Bellow is a list of the equipment you would need:
Vivarium (enclosure) minimum 4ft x 2ft x 2ft
Spotlight Heat Bulb.
UVB Strip Light - typically a 10.0 is strong enough but it may depend on the brand.
Dimming thermostat - this is vital to getting the correct heat gradients.
x2 Thermometers - these are needed to make sure you are getting the right temperatures on each side of the enclosure.
Hygrometer - this will read the level of humidity in the enclosure which needs to be low due to Bearded Dragons being a desert species.
Water dish - these aren't necessary as your pet should get most of there water from their food but if yours is a drinker a small one may be provided.
Food bowl - this will be required for there leafy greens.
*You will also need to create a good environment for your Bearded Dragon so you will need décor like rocks and logs to make a good basking area for them.*
