Work smarter, not harder!
Working on finishing the edges on a few belts today. The sanding process can be very messy and I got tired of leather dust all over my face😂 vacuum cleaner to the rescue! Happy Saturday!!!

Ever since I started the leather work side of my little business, I dreamed of having a shop, where I could work and it be filled with photos and special items that have a cool story and have an amazing view. My "shop" started out in the basement, then moved to the garage, somehow I ended up at our kitchen table and then I made the move to a little corner in my bedroom. I claimed a room in our old farmhouse and now today, I'm so excited to say I finally have a real shop!!! It's not completely finished yet, I still have a few more things to do to it and some organizing to do, but now I have a whole entire room designated to my leather work! I'm so excited about how this space came together, it's just absolutely perfect 💜 it's made up of antique store finds, treasures of the outdoors, my photography and the most AMAZING view that I have missed so much! Huge thank you to my parents for all their help moving everything! And a big shout out to my good buddy Cullen for lending his sewing machine to me! I'm so excited I finally have a machine to use!
And I'm hoping to have a shop update in the next couple weeks, so keep an eye out for a drop date!

I've made a handful of belts that I'm proud of, but this one beats all. I'm so excited and proud of this belt! It has so much meaning behind and it turned out so beautiful! May I introduce you to, The stages of a bridle horse!!!
This belt showcases the process of making a bridle horse the vaquero way. You start your horse in a hackamore then on to the two rein and then a finished horse is straight up in the bridle. It's a very long process that requires patience and knowledge. People have been carrying on the tradition for years. This belt is headed out to one of those people, a lady who is keeping the tradition alive. Notice her brand on the tail. The vaquero traditions have a special place in my heart. I'm so in love with the vaquero ways! Also notice the alamar knot on the belt too. The alamar knot is a symbol of a bridle horse in the making. Vaqueros like to decorate their horses for show and that's what the alamar knot represents. I'm no expert on the subject, but I have learned a few things here and there.
