I would just like add a few key points of interest , for anyone that hasn't bread Phoenix Bantams before , I have been breeding these for a number of years , and this is what I have found , 1 Protein , because of the feather growth, they need a lot more Protein than a normal tail chicken . 2 They do not like being disturbed , most likely will stress out and start picking on others with them. 3 I have found if they are not free range and you are selectively breeding in pens , I have found it is best to breed as pairs , you will avoid most of the Dominant problems with the hens. 4 Bedding , in their pens I have found , if you use bedding Material that is not long , so it doesn't tangle up in their long feathers. 5 perches , Perches have to be high enough so their tails will not touch the ground , helps keep them clean . 6 Nests , I like to put them off the ground as it keeps things cleaner , and does tend to stop the C**k birds from getting in as much , they are likely to break eggs.
