Thank-You to their Earth angels for your support. When we recover the vet payments for each furbaby brought in we can help another in need. We do not get nearly the funding needed to carry a vet bill when a vet wants payment immediately after procedure has been completed nor the time needed to fundraise. We have a very small cushion to work with so recovering these costs are crucial. We never know when the next emergency may arise. We can not thank the Earth angels enough for the support they have given to our furbabies in need. If you wish to donate and prefer sending direct vet, please send e-transfer direct [email protected] or [email protected]. Please add Earth Angels in memo Pawsitive Vet is to help city and surrounding area cats as Ste Pierre for the Southeast. Payments also can be made direct to [email protected]. Please specify in memo what or who donation is intended for. Thank-You for being there

Still available for adoption or foster to adopt!

We are hoping to reunite Toffee with her sister Juniper who looks very similar. These two girls have a story to tell. The bonded pair were separated into different fosters as Juniper was less sociable and shy. Both do well around other cats but Juniper spends most of her time alone. Maybe the duration of them remaining in foster will give Juniper the chance to come around. Maybe it's them being apart that Juniper is not as sociable. We do believe they are sisters and would love to see them reunited. However, current foster is in no position to take the two on. We would love to try them out on a foster or a foster to adopt. These girls were abandoned not by fault of owners. Due to circumstances I can not disclose details. If anyone is interested please contact us directly. Little is known about them. They were already fixed by former owner and no tattoos. We did not know their names or if they had one. We just know by what we witnessed.

Thank-you Earth Angels for your support. Eleanor's folder is now closed. Your funds help us save one life at a time. 100% of funds go towards spay, neuters, vaxxes, deworming, and medical needs. We are beyond grateful for your support. We do try to recover some of these costs to apply to another in need. We never know when an emergency will arise and there is no time to fund raise in the middle of the night to cover these costs when vets want immediate payment. Unfortunately we do not have a cushion for these emergencies. We do have amazing veterinarians who do care for our furbabies and we are grateful for each and every one of them.

This is not the results anyone wants to get when hoping for a false positive from the first test. We are too familiar with FELV. We lost three to this virus Mufasa was only with us three short weeks and how Paws for a Cause began. Paws for a Cause was not intended to be a rescue but the voice for those who could not speak. In came Trooper who was also diagnosed with FELV and also retested in hopes of a false positive. Dec. 2021 is when we started as a rescue. Three months later Monty came in as well with FELV but passed away only weeks later like Mufasa. We try to give them the same chance at a loving home as any other we take in. Wendy will remain in foster and be loved and cared for. These cases rip your heart out knowing their time is limited. We are grateful to have Veterinarians who are compassionate and understanding and the Earth Angels along side these furbabies as well. January 1st 2024 we changed our name. We were their voice at the Legislation grounds in 2023 and kept the promise we made to Mufasa.

We will be needing the help of the Earth Angels by September. Big Grey is scheduled for his dental at an estimate of 1025.00. Donations can be sent to Ste Pierre vet or Directly to us. If you wish to contribute to his care please contact us directly. This boy has been living life a feral for 10 years. It took us eight of these years to contain him. He has now been fixed fully vaxxed dewormed etc. Unfortunately being a feral he was eating food off the ground and broke his teeth chewing on rocks and gravel. He will be needing dental to remove all these broken teeth. Please when feeding strays and ferals do not throw food on the ground. These cats suffer and many pass away being unable to chew dry food due to pain. We appreciate you helping them but please consider dishes or containers to put the food in.

Thank-You Earth Angels for your support. Every dollar donated provides spays/Neuters vaxxes, deworming, medical care and food. If we need specific funding for supplies it will be posted separately. We have cats that need special care and require extra funding to cover. We can not continue saving one life at a time without your support. Thank-You for being their Earth Angels.

25/06/2024

I have some thank-yous to post today so will be working on those. I also have to check on the upcoming vet agendas and see where we are at for upcoming appointments. We ask for help when we need at the time we need it and 100% of funds go to the furbabies and where it is intended. This is why we ask for you to specify in memo so we can apply it to the specified folders and those intended. Thank-You for being their Earth Angels. We would not be able to continue saving one life at a time without your support.

We are almost completed three cat colonies. To fully complete we are needing to have the boosters done for the 14 vaxxed on the 27th of May for the end of June. We have fully vaxxed those done on the 26th of April and and spayed/neutered on the 27th of April. Big Grey who was trapped on the 4th of May is also now fully vaxxed. We have five left to fix in the fourth colony. Before moving forward having more spay/neuters we want to finish off the ones still needing boosters. Thank-You Earth Angels for your support. It's been a busy time but so much has been accomplished in just over two months. This does not account for the 14 pups and three adult dogs Lexi’s Relief Rescue assisted with in December or the twelve pups in March. This also does not account for Bean. We can not express our gratitude enough to each and everyone of you who have been there for these furbabies. We know you do not see many coming into rescue and not many stories to follow however, We do want you to know that there was only two litters born from these eight colonies. Each and everyone of them is doing remarkable and nearly ready for adoption. Your support and donations have done wonders to save many by helping with spay/neuters/vaccinations/treatments. In the end we will tally up how many cats you have helped save. Some will be at adoption events where you will be able to meet those you supported. We are hoping to meet some of you so we can thank you personally. We can not thank-you all enough for your kindness so these little souls can have a chance at possibly one day finding forever homes. To the property owners who plan on keeping them and possibly assisting with some socializing so they may one day be adopted Thank-You.

I want to say THANK YOU to the Earth Angels for your love and support to our furbabies. We have some Earth Angels who have volunteered to do some of our marketing and donated some crucial supplies so we can start doing two events at separate locations. We are hoping to have everything done by the middle or end of this month. We want to put our former name PAWS FOR A CAUSE to rest for once and for all and move forward. To those who sacrifice their time, family, and put the furbabies above themselves I want to say thank-you for being part of the team. Sometimes we forget that we are all feeling the pressure and not considering the time we miss out with loved ones. There are times there is miscommunication due to busy work schedules and not having the time to acknowledge every detail. Volunteers are hard to come by and rescue is not a paid position. We all sacrifice something but we need to stay focused on those who depend on us to hold things together and that is the furbabies.

🌟 Help Us Feed Hungry Souls! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that we've been offered a large donation of dog and cat food that will help us continue to nourish the many hungry mouths in care and the hungry mouths yet to find care. However, we urgently need your help to cover the freight and delivery costs!

Here’s what we need:

$350 to bring in 2 pallets of puppy food.
$200 to bring in 2 pallets of wet cat food.
$150 to transport to our out of town storage.
This donation couldn’t have come at a more crucial time. We are down to our last few bags of dog food and nearly out of cat food. With over 100 souls in care and several cat colonies to tend to, this restock(especially with such gourmet meals), will be a godsend!

From facing euthanasia, abuse, abandonment, and harsh lives outdoors, the animals are set to dine and live like kings and queens!

How You Can Help:

DONATE: Every dollar counts! Please consider contributing to our food fund at [email protected]. No amount is too small; even micro-donations such as $1-$5 make a significant impact.
SHARE: If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this post can also make a huge difference. Help us spread the word and keep bellies full and spirits high!

We are immensely grateful for every individual and gesture of support during this time of animal overpopulation crisis. Your help ensures that we can continue providing the best care to animals who have come from challenging pasts. ❤

Thank you for standing with us and for the animals. Together, we can ensure that every soul in care dines like royalty, overcoming their past hardships, and extend our support to those still awaiting a place in care!

Eleanor is ready to move on😭 Yes happy tears but I don't want her to forget her family either. I would like to see how she does in a home setting now where she can be the Queen she is. No growling No lashing no hissing and even the skin twitching tapered off. I will do a before and after post but I want this to be the MEOUW. Eleanor has even started grooming herself again. We do not use sedatives or difusers and let them transition naturally in order to determine what their true temperament is and help them work through it. Eleanor has her own personality and will let you know when she has had enough but she no longer lashes out. Due to behavior and what was believed to be aggression Eleanor was one step away from being Euthed. Someone recommended us to see if we could help. Eleanor is going home. That was snort not a sneeze. I will leave it to the rest of you to figure out the meaning to it🤣 I have my interpretation 😆

Nine vaccines done today. These two are from the Zhoda colony which is now the Happy Colony. These are two done today. Remember the girl that lost her litter to the Toms after being a dump off? She has now found her forever indoor home and is with her forever Companion named Happy. These two are now starting a new chapter thank-You to the property owner who decided to welcome these two into their home. Thank-You Earth Angels for your support so these strays and ferals get the second chance they so much deserve.

Remember Marmalade? He is a transitioned feral. He was brought for a meet and greet and immediately took to his five yr old hooman companion. Marmalade is now a loved indoor cat. When we adopt out our furbabies this is what we look for. We are forever not where ever. Our furbabies seem to decide who their furparents will be and although we still will do the screening we *asteric* potential adopters as those our transitioned ferals seem to connect with. These have been successful happy ending furever adoptions. Marmalade was always good for a laugh when he found out his true character and stopped having to be afraid, scrounging for food , defending himself and trying to avoid contact with people. Marmalade is safe and loved. Do you have a spot in your home for a cat like Marmalade? Our ferals are all dog friendly as long as your dog is cat friendly.

A huge THANK-YOU to Graydon vet Staff for your understanding and patience with Eleanor. Thank-You for seeing Big Grey on Monday as well. Today Eleanor has the start of Health Records. Eleanor's fur parent did well keeping her healthy. No dental issues😍

Eleanor was at the vet today! Today was the first time I had ever actually held her. Well it was short lived anyway🤣 I was actually in shock even though it was only a few minutes. I gently removed all her mats except one existing small one which was was done under sedation where her skin was examined. Aside from a small wound under her chin most likely from scratching Eleanor did pretty well. She had not been to a vet in quite some time so for her first visit she received a clean bill of health but no real answers as to why she has skin twitches. Metacam will be administered for a few days to see if the problem subsides to rule out pain. I wanted to bring her in to rule out neurological. If I could give her a bath I would like to see if that would help her dry skin and lessen the irritation as well but with Eleanor that would be like climbing over a razor fence🤣.

Do you remember Kernel. The cat that came in with pellet gun wounds? He still has one lodged. He is a case that came in from Steinbach a few years ago. To those who donated and supported towards him gave him a new life. He has been out of the spotlight for awhile but I would like to share with you the difference you made in his life. When you donate towards these furbabies you give them a second chance. Kernel was a stray/drop off and landed on the wrong property. Many of these would not exist today without your support. We are forever Grateful. I am adding the updated pics of Kernel today. We like to stay in touch with adopters so we can update supporters and demonstrate where those furbabies are today and the difference you made in their lives. 100% of any funds sent go to these furbabies. Your support helps us be able to continue saving one life at a time. You are their Earth Angels

Some of you may remember Bolt. The first picture of Bolt when he first came into care in 2021. Bolt was found in LaBroquerie area. He had severe stomatitis, he was thrown from a vehicle and had road burn, He also had severe frost bite on his ears and feet. He was found living on sunflower seeds from a bird feeder. He was in care for a year to recover and get used to people. Bolt was taken in by a foster who was first looking after Birdie but wasn't a fit. The other pics are of Bolt living the life he so much deserves. Yes we do follow ups and post updates of these furbabies. Thank-You to all Earth Angels who helped make a difference to these lost souls and changed one life at a time. These lost souls have now found forever loving homes and their own furparents. These stray/feral cats that were discarded are now indoor only housecats. 😍

Eleanor makes me laugh. She either loves that squeaky mouse or loves to drive me nuts with it. At least she didn't try to drown it yet so another one ends up outside because it won't turn off. You can hear it going for a week unless you throw it in the garbage bin and put it by the curb🤣

Birdie was a feral living in the Niverville community. Someone in the community shot her with a pellet gun. Birdie had a caregiver however she came to us because she has a reactive cat. Birdie has seven pellets lodged including one behind her optic nerve causing blindness in one eye. One of the pellets dislodged from her elbow and has now moved towards the armpit. This has now become an urgency. We are going to be taking her in for an assessment along with Candi who will need a dental work. At this time our main concern is Birdie. If you wish to donate to Birdie's care please send e-transfer to [email protected] please add Birdie in Memo. We Would like to know if some of these pellets can be removed. She will also need updated xrays so we can compare and update this post.

We are now working on our transitioning and marketing. We are also going to be working on our registration as a non profit. I'm pleased to announce if you had missed it before we do have a name hold with Our Earth Angels. If you missed reason for name change... Paws for a Cause was trademarked by another organization therefore we were not granted the name hold or registration. Although we lost all of our marketing that we put in out of pocket for Paws for a Cause I feel Our Earth Angels is much more suited and also wanted a Rescue name that was dedicated towards the supporters who have been there so we can continue saving one life at a time. 😍 Thank-You Earth Angels for being there for the furbabies in need so they can get the second chance they all deserve. I can not thank everyone for all they did by listing supporters, volunteers, fosters, organizations, etc as there is no comparisons or one being above the other. The only way to combine everyone without listing was EARTH ANGELS. Thank you Earth Angels for being their guiding light and helping our furbabies to find their forever homes.
