In 2019 a Whippet has joined us and they are so collectible. We are a small kennel, usually have 1 litter in 2 years. Ever since I have memories, I was surrounded by dogs. My Mom used to breed Afghan Hounds back in the 70-80ies (’El-Kohistan’ Kennel), playing key part in laying down the foundation of the breed in Hungary. I was lucky enough to grow up among her last, aristocratic beauties. I belie
ve this was imprinting for me. Later we’ve had different breeds, mostly just as family pets. Then I found my breed, which is Irish Terriers. After 10 years of considering, waiting and searching, on my 30th birthday I brought home a bitch pup, from The Netherlands, who later became our foundation bitch, and with whom the story of the ’Breaks Your Heart’ Kennel have started. Have imported a dog from the UK Saredon Kennel, who sired us our A-litter, in 2013. In 2019, my husband came home with a new addition to our family: a Whippet bitch. This in an instant pressed the imprinted Sighthound button and I was lost… In 2021 we are awaiting our first Whippet litter, from a Lithuanian bred sire. We are a small kennel, with average 1 litter every two years. All our dogs live with us as members of the family. I work with a co-breeder partner, which I find is the best for our dogs. She and her handler daughter are our masters of dogshows and the taking care of little furbabies, me I do the breeding plans, networking and am running the performance part with agility, coursing, lure coursing, canicross and such. By now I’m proud and thankful to the loving Owners of our pups, who took ’Breaks Your Heart’ Irish Terriers across borders, and thus our dogs are not only to be found in Hungary and neighboring countries but also in Canada, France, Germany, Norway, Lithuania, Russia, UK, and the USA.
