I recently completed my ads for the annual National Shiba Club of America’s Shiba E-News, which is our opportunity to showcase our dog’s accomplishments from the previous year.

It is my first time I am able to showcase dogs that were born in my own home and it is such a good feeling!! I feel like I still have a lot of tiny steps to take towards my goals but, I am happy with everything we did this past year.

Hopefully 2025 will bless us with good fortune and success as well!

It was a busy day filled with fun and excitement! We ran some errands and got our Starbies! It was a good day to take Nikko out for some training and socializing. She didn’t really want to walk in the store but, once she gets used to the harness she should be fine! 😂

AKC Trick Dog is a great way to build a bond of positivity and training with your puppy! And you can earn fun little titles/certificates for your pup in the process from the AKC! Check out more information here: https://www.akc.org/sports/trick-dog/

Of course I don’t require or expect any of my pet puppy owners to do these things but, it’s a great gateway to trying other AKC companion events and sports like Fast CAT, Agility and Rally!

Even if she isn’t the most perfect puppy, she is #1 in my book for her temperament alone. I was very happy with the outcome of my last breeding getting a puppy like this! ☺️💞

She has been like this since she was a few weeks old, now she is almost 4.5 months old and still as content as ever. 😂

A happy belated birthday to our Renton, who turned 3 years old on January 3rd! He is such a good boy and is getting his late birthday presents today to celebrate (we were a bit busy with the dog show this weekend!). It’s so hard to believe he is already 3 years old. We had a fun weekend in St. Paul! Unfortunately no luck for the girls showing but, I got Hana’s eye rechecked on Saturday and she passed her eye exam! 🥰

I also scheduled Hana for her OFA hips and elbows in February. If she passes her last tests then she will be bred on her next cycle. This will be our only litter plan for 2025!

We are considering placing Nikko to the right home. She is VERY sweet and playful. She is crate trained, completely finished her puppy shots, rabies shot and is microchipped. She is AKC registered and is enrolled in AKC Reunite.

I hope you all had a wonderful new year! 2024 was a crazy year for us but, we welcomed 8 wonderful puppies into the world and learned a ton about raising litters and puppies.

We also had a few successes at our handful of dog shows we attended in 2024, taking our girls just a few short steps away from finishing their AKC Championships.

Here’s to a hopefully successful year filled with more fun activities and hopefully a puppy or two! 💞

Here’s Saki (formerly Seiryu from our first litter) all dressed up with her adorable black and tan brother.

Suzy left today with her new family. I’m sad to see her go but, also excited to see how she does with her new family. I love her so much and she will be missed at Tobitatsu Shiba. 💞

I installed some new rubber flooring in the whelping area over the weekend and since we aren’t having a litter until later this year, I temporarily put together a little play area for some of the dogs to be in here while I’m at my computer. Byakko and Nikko were pretty excited to play in here!
