I wanted to share this good news with my Lucky Girl Family. My foster Irma found her forever-mom!

Happy life, Irma! ✌️

She headed home over the weekend with her new mom, Faith! Faith had always wanted a cat but couldn’t until she lived on her own due to a family member’s allergies. Maybe we’re biased but we think she picked a pretty stroller “first cat”! Thank you to Karen who saved this perfect little Torti from Philly’s animal control shelter and fostered her until she found the perfect home.

I also tried out a new service last weekend. Petsitting at a hotel! Shila’s family was coming to town for a wedding and needed someone to stay with her while they attended the festivities. They reached out to me with plenty of notice so we had time to video chat and keep in contact before they arrived. Shila is a seasoned traveler, so she knew how to navigate hotel corridors and the elevator. We had a couple of potty breaks and, other than some barks when she wanted to share my cheese crackers, she spent the whole time snoring away on the couch. Definitely a successful first time try!

Whew!! It’s been a crazy few weeks! Time to catch up on my sharing, including this fun news - please welcome Erin to the Lucky Girl family! Erin has her own Petsitting business, but has also found time to work with me during this busy season. She is dog-savvy and has lots of experience with small animals and reptiles too. Thank you to the families who trust me in their homes and with their pets. I’m excited to have someone else helping provide the excellent care you deserve!

New foster kitty, Irma

New foster Irma

Not only do I enjoy taking care of your pets and mine, I like to foster cats for rescues. It’s been a little while since I’ve brought anyone home so I decided it was time to change that. Yesterday we welcomed Irma from #acctphilly to our house. I’m fostering her through #cityofelderlylove and she’ll be available for adoption once she’s fully vetted and we figure out what type of home would be good for her. Irma is 12 years old, and was surrendered because her family situation changed and her caregiver could no longer support her. So far I’ve learned she’s very friendly, prefers canned food to dry, uses the litter box, and likes being told she’s pretty 😊 #luckygirlpetsitting

Hi Lucky Girl Family! You might start to see a trend with the animals in my home. This is my next eldest, Albert (also known as Pug). When we went to the SPCA 15 years ago looking for a cat, we like to say we came home with the ugliest cat we could find. I had always wanted a pug, and it was by chance Al and his brother had just been dropped off. He’s proven to have at least 9 lives and has given us a few health scares over the years. But he’s the jolliest, funniest, and most agreeable dog I could imagine. He’s been my go-to “dog-tester” for every foster cat I bring home (to see if they like dogs or want to tune them up). And he’s my 17-year-old son’s best friend. #luckygirlpetsitting
