Sweet Violet is ready for her forever home Violet was rescued off the streets (Oct 2021), fostered for a year, then ADOPTED (Nov 2022). Violet is a very sweet, 8-year-old, love bug.

She loves people (including children) and is playful with other dogs. She looks like a small Staffordshire mix, weighing about 50 pounds. Violet was found as a stray, and is currently being a perfect angel in her foster home. She is calm, quiet, housebroken, and very good on a leash. She doesn’t need much exercise, and is content to follow you around and nap the day away. She would love to be a co

uch potato, but if you don’t want her on the furniture she understands. She travels well in the car. She is very easy to take care of. The one medical need she has is eye drops. Her eyes don’t make tears so she needs drops in them. She is very tolerant about getting them, so it isn’t difficult at all to do. (As a side note, she is also very good at the vet.) If you are looking for a sweet wiggle-butt girl, who is joyful about everything, then Violet is your perfect pal! She has her own page, where you can see more photos and learn more about her.

Rhinoceros (Family Rhinocerotidae): Rhinos once roamed many places throughout Eurasia and Africa and were known to early Europeans who depicted them in cave paintings. At the beginning of the 20th century, 500,000 rhinos roamed Africa and Asia. But today very few rhinos survive outside national parks and reserves due to persistent poaching and habitat loss over many decades. Two species of rhino in Asia—Javan and Sumatran—are critically endangered according to the World Wildlife Fund. 22 Sep is Rhino Day, Sir David Attenborough is pictured several years ago with a young blind Rhino.

"Had my eye surgery today. Because my right eye tear duct doesn't work, they rerouted my salivary gland to that eye to keep it from drying out. The vet said everything went well. I'm resting comfortably. Recovery will be a few weeks." - Violet.
