These three remind me of the expression “when the printer runs out of ink” except in reference to size 😆

This morning was all about helping Milo (the middle guy) learn how to settle on his walks and learn being reactive does not need to be the answer to things that trigger him.

After an initial questionnaire, I will come to your home and conduct a thorough consultation. This can take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the context of each situation. We want the interaction to go as normal as possible for the unwanted behaviors to occur naturally as they usually would. Aft...

This will probably be an unpopular opinion but it’s one that 100% needs to be talked about.

SPAY ABORTIONS.

Spay abortions need to start being implemented more often in shelters and rescues. Understand it is always a genetic gamble with what type of breed or temperament or health issues will arise when a mother dog is yet again forced to give birth. Most people do not know this but a mother under stress produces higher cortisol levels which can result in unsound litters due to cortisol being the leader hormone in aggression. That plus the stress of birthing in a shelter environment or an unfamiliar place is extremely high risk due to stress, possible disease, or even just the lack of resources if a pregnant dog cannot be placed in foster and have to stay in a shelter or boarding environment.

As dogs age, their bodies become less resilient and more susceptible to complications during pregnancy and birth. Older dogs may have weaker muscles and tissues, making it difficult for them to deliver puppies safely. Additionally, older dogs are more likely to have chronic health issues that can further complicate pregnancy and labor. Dogs with underlying health conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, infections, or cancer face greater risks during pregnancy. Cancer can severely compromise a dog's health, leading to weakened immune systems, organ dysfunction, and decreased energy levels.

At the end of the day, especially in older pups, the mother’s life should ALWAYS be a priority over her unborn offspring. Period. The potential adoption fees from puppies should not outweigh the life and well-being of the mother. Prioritizing her health and reducing the strain on her well-being and quality of life should ALWAYS be the main concern.

There is a HUGE overwhelming over-population epidemic going on with dogs particularly in Arizona but all throughout the United States. We as the animal advocacy community, need to start advocating for the animals that are already breathing on this earth rather than contribute to the problem at hand. It is upsetting that this isn’t a more normalized option that I see take place in rescues and shelters. Hopefully this will soon change.
