Hi! 👋 I'm LUCKY and I'm looking for a forever home. I am a male Rottie mix, maybe around 2 or 3 years old.

I came into SPCA care just before Christmas, after being found roaming. The kind folks at the Southwest Coast SPCA did a post looking for my owner, but nobody came forward to claim me. I was abandoned I guess. 😔 Seeing how nobody knew my name, the volunteers called me Lucky. I think that is a great name, because I sure do feel lucky to have come into their care!

It wasn't all bad though, as I was fortunate to be placed in a wonderful foster home with two other doggies and some really nice people. ❤ I had a ball. They gave me a warm place to sleep, lots of yummy food, even some treats. I went for walks, and played with the other dogs. I had a great Christmas, but now I really want my own home.

My foster mom says I am part Klingon, because I really like people and CANNOT get enough cuddling. I get along well with both their dogs (see photos below of me and my friends 🐶🐶). I love walking and I don't even pull much on the leash. I don't bark much, which makes me an ideal pet (at least that's what my Foster mom says!). Foster mom is amazed how gentle I am. I take treats very well, and show no signs of food aggression at all. She says I am a 'Gentle Giant'. 😍

Thanks to my years of roaming the area, I really need a home that isn't in the Stephenville/Port au Port area, as there is just too much of a chance I will try to find my folks and end up alone again. I don't want that. What I really need is a fresh start with people who really love me. 🤗❤

My adoption fee is $350, which includes my neuter, first vaccination, flea treatment, dewormer and a 6-week free trial of pet insurance. LILY recently came to the shelter after going unclaimed at the pound. She is approximately 5 years old. Lily was carrying some extra weight when she first came in, but had no problem losing weight since she loves going for walks :) She walks well on leash but is very strong. She requires a home with no other animals. Lily is spayed and fully vaccinated. She can't wait to find her furever home!

ADOPTED!

Buddy is a 2 year old Rottweiler mix. He’s a short and blocky character who loves to bounce around on his little legs. He’s perfectly medium sized, weighing in around 45-50 pounds. Buddy is already neutered so that’s one less thing to worry about. He has a really sweet personality, very bubbly, outgoing and happy. He loves people and gets along fine with other animals. This little Buddy is hoping to be your new best friend. 🐶❤️

Meet Bailey,

She was found roaming in Shoal Harbour. We did look for an owner and did receive some information saying that she was owned so she will be staying with us to find a new home! We were told she is a young dog around 4 yrs old.

Bailey has itchy skin and was constantly scratching so she went o the vet for a visit. She is currently on a food recommended by our vet for allergies. This is likely going to be an ongoing thing for her the rest of her life unfortunately so whomever adopts her will have be prepared for future vet visits and food from the vet.

She is a very sweet and mild dog and lets us do whatever with her. She was great at the vet and getting a bath & her nails done at the shelter. We think she will be wonderful with children because of her temperament. We are unsure about cats at this time.

She still needs to be spayed and has had a vaccine, flea treatment and deworming. When she is feeling a bit better she will be spayed by us but she can still go to a home in the meantime.

Tyco is a male King Shepherd (no papers) who has spent the first 4 years of his life tied outside. He now has the chance to find a home who will treat him like family, the way all animals should be treated. ❤️‍🩹 Tyco is 100% loveable and on the way to being 100% huggable.. after a much needed grooming! He is extra large in both size and heart. Due to being left outside he needs a refresher on some manners but does sit and listens when you call him. He seems eager to learn and craves love. He’s very excited to be getting attention from the shelter staff and volunteers but was anxious to be left outside, he only wants to be in with everyone at your feet. 💗 Tyco is not yet neutered but has been vaccinated. He has not been tested with cats but got along wonderful with other dogs through the fence. Tyco is looking for a home to give him the love he’s missed out on. 16 week old baby girl Patch is looking for a forever family! 💗 She is the absolute sweetest little darling. Cuddly on the couch but can boogie when out in the yard! She’s really good with other dogs and would make the sweetest little sister. Birdie wants to keep her! 🐶💕Patch is a Beagle mix estimated to grow to be the small side of medium. Very friendly, smart, teachable puppy ready to find a lucky home of her own!

Meet Rosie. Rosie is just 4 years young.
This beauty is flying in this week and we are looking for the perfect placement for her. While she doesn’t prefer other dogs to be near, at all, she absolutely adores humans. Rosie is a big, goofy, girl. She loves food, playing with a ball, and sprawling out on the couch. She has a cute growl voice she uses while she wags her tail to tell you she’s hungry, wants to go out, or is hoping you’ll give her a little chase and play tug with her. Rosie is a love bug, fully house trained, and sleeps all night.
The ideal placement for Rosie would be one with no other dogs around or animals (she really is a attention hog). A place outside city living where she can relax and hang out and be happy.

UPDATE! Levi has a forever home. After carefully reviewing all the awesome applications, we have made our decision. Levi has a home waiting him on the East Coast of the province. How soon is he leaving you ask? He is already on his way. After we made our decision on who the lucky adopter would be, we asked our volunteers if they were heading from Stephenville to the east coast anytime soon. One of our volunteers, Crystal, messaged back to tell us she was leaving in one hour. We contacted Levi's fosters, and together we all got him ready for his ride to his amazing new home. Photo updates on the way once he settles into his new life. Big thanks to everyone who was involved in the foster process. and to Crystal for offering to take this super handsome doggie to his new home. Talk about teamwork.
