McBride Ridge is looking to add a few more students that have their own horses!! We travel!! So if you’re at home stranded with your horse and no ability to trailer out to lessons, we can come to you!

Fridays and now adding Tuesdays to our travel days! Currently Serving Homeland, Herritage Farms, and Caloosa! Deer Run, Fox trail, and white fences are not far from our farm.

Lessons in English, Western, western dressage, dressage, and jumping (hunter or jumpers). Ground work. OTTB’s and quirky young horses we love too!

MY GIRL!!! Keegan Stanton has put in some awesome home work on the flat after every lesson and it’s Paying off!!! Check out Baby Banks Today!!! 3ft 3in and so comfortable with the height 🥰🥰🥰 this horse has never jumped over 2ft before!! So SOOOO proud to be helping this pair hit their goals!!!

Due to the increase of operation costs & Feed prices. My Prices for Lesson packages and Individual Lessons will be going up starting January 1, 2024. The new rates are available on the farm website www.mcbrideridge.com

Those existing students and families on monthly packages will remain at the current rate and will not increase.

Those students joining McBride Ridge in 2024 that have NOT purchased packages this month, December 2023, will be paying the new rate.

I apologize for any inconvenience. I have kept my rates as low as I can and I just can’t anymore.

I would strongly encourage purchasing gift certificates this Christmas for lesson packages to be used into 2024. That way your rider will be secured at the old rate moving forward.

Man Alive…what a crazy WILD Sunday this was!! 3 rings of riders all at the same time 🤣🤣 ALL hands were on deck today! HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who made today happen!!! So proud of this entire team of people❤️

Elsa and Emily had their very first Horse show experience today and it couldn’t have happened without Caitlin Shewalter and Alexis Merritt!! Thank you for Handling Biscuits and letting us borrow Lil Dude (wenglish style to boot😂) yet ran ridiculously close to missing your entire division! That was close! Too close…

Miss Maci won all 3 classes and Elsa and Emily each placed over each other so there was zero tears today and I couldn’t have been more proud of all their sportsmanship and cheering eachother on and high fives at the end! This is what showing is all about, sportsmanship alongside proper horsemanship.

Thank you Karin Eldred Izquierdo for the use of your wonderful Zips Don’t Need Luck! He’s a treasure for sure! And we love him so much!

Amazing riding and horsemanship today by Keegan Stanton and her adorable TB baby horse Banks!! I absolutely love him and working with her! She did so amazing with him and Boy can that kid RIDE! 😂 baby Banks was the real MVP this weekend for holding his composure while we tested our boundaries In that baby brain of his! He sure made for some gorgeous photos tho!!! Hunter derbies here we come!!

Riders stay hydrated please! If you have lessons mid morning or even mornings that it’s hot by 7:30am. Please please please bring lots of water, eat something substantial before your ride, drink lots before your rides too! I had 3 students over heat this week and almost completely pass out during light work rides.

You have to get yourself acclimated to the heat outside of your lesson times. Walk the dog during those times, go outside and do something physical. Just get outside in the heat around those lesson times!!

I don’t teach between 12 and 4pm for this reason.

We have show opportunities at local shows in English, western, western dressage, dressage, and jumping.

Lesson horses for adults and children, Teaching ages 2 and up, are available on site with a limited availability schedule.

Have your own horse? No problem we have options for that too!

This October 1st we have an immediate opening for 1 horse Full Board including lessons or Full training board for your horse.

Off property lessons are currently held on Fridays in Heritage Farms and Homeland area. We do travel now!

❤️You are and were, always enough❤️

Do you remember that girl you used to envy way back when? All those years ago when you were a teen and showing horses? The one you thought was so skinny and had the perfect body for hunt seat equitation?

Even though you might not have thought so, your body weight was just fine.

And you do remember that rider who had the perfect equitation? You thought you could never be like her.

Your equitation was pretty stellar, too.

Do you remember wishing you had an unlimited budget to buy the best horse in the world so you could compete at the top levels?

A million-dollar horse doesn't equate to instant success.

And do you remember feeling like an outsider, wondering if you would ever fit in? Maybe your clothes weren't quite right, or your tack wasn't new enough, or you didn't pull up in a fancy truck and trailer.

Those other girls felt like misfits, too. But trust me when I say this, you were all wrong.

Dear younger me, when you look back at those days and remember that you never felt pretty enough or good enough or had a horse that could compete at the top levels, you will realize that you were always where you needed to be. Those days of working hard and making the best out of what you had would serve you well in life. They would teach you what it meant to set goals and to work toward your dreams. They would teach you not to quit.

Older me recognizes there will always be times when you feel like you're the odd man, er, woman out. And that is all those times you forced yourself to be friendly at horse shows or talk to someone on the rail, you were learning how to get out of your comfort zone, something that would serve you well.

Sometimes it's not that people are unfriendly. Sometimes they're just as introverted as you are. They don't return a smile because your smile makes them uncomfortable. Because they're shy. It's easy to judge from a distance. Far harder to give someone grace until you truly get to know them.

Remember, you are always enough. Speak kindly to yourself (because those inner monologues can be brutal sometimes.) And on the days when comparisons threaten to steal your joy, remind yourself of your success. Got a tough problem? That's OK; you've conquered many challenges before. You can do this.

Don't lose faith in yourself. Sometimes the difference between winning and losing is the confidence you exude. Hold your head just a little higher than your competition. That spark in your eyes tells the judges you're someone to be reckoned with. Always walk with confidence, because people notice.

For the first time in 2 years I can say I have a waitlist for lessons and training during the month of July!!! Sporadic availability this month might be available!

I am so proud to have Wonderful adult students and a positive group of ladies taking charge of their dreams and personal goals! Teens over coming bullying, self confidence issues, and regulating boundaries! A handful of children who are fearless world leaders navigating communication with horses and improving body awareness and discipline. Students who have their own horses off site gearing up for their first show season!! Burnt out and damaged horses who are finding their way back to love, patience, and being understood and appreciated for their quirks! I am exactly where I was always meant to be❤️ I can’t thank those of you who believed in me and my training enough!! The shares, the reviews, the heartfelt tears cheering on my students, horses, and myself over the last few years while I found my way back to my passion full time!!

I am so proud of and everything it stands for! Here’s to an amazing summer!

Progress to me is always based on the horse’s decision to let me in. Not them adapting to a “program”. Every horse is different. They don’t choose to be bad.

Malibu has been taking a much needed decompression break under saddle. Learning to just be a ranch pony. Live outside. Be patient in hand. Not be reactive to her own triggers. Standing for periods of time. Not getting defensive and then reactive to the questions SHE asked of HERSELF. I went from being her enemy to her friend. Someone she reaches for for reassurance.

Today was her first day back and she was ready and WILLING. I’m very proud of where she started and where she is headed!
