Bunny / Fair PSA. I receive voicemails and messages like this all the time, and it makes me so angry and sad. I know that some people who show their rabbits do genuinely love and take care of them - this is directed at the rest (and I believe, the majority) who treat them as objects to help win a competition and are discarded after. Bunnies die at fairs every single year from the heat and poor conditions- but it’s what happens after the fair is over that most people don’t know about. Many bunnies are culled (slaughtered), sold off without much thought of what their life will look like, and many are simply dumped. Many are bred until they can’t be bred anymore, and then are killed. These pictures are actual pictures that i found with a 2 minute search of marketplace and fair posts. This is the life that most bunnies live. If it were a dog in these pictures instead of a bunny, there would be public outrage (as well there should be), but for bunnies, this is seen as normal and acceptable. The next time you see bunnies posted for sale, or see them at the fair, please remember these pictures. This is why rescuers are burnt out; we pour our hearts, souls, and so much time and money into caring for these beautiful creatures, but we know that there are literally HUNDREDS, just in one county, that we can’t help. Please share - accountability begins with awareness.

Our Meeka girl is home, and so far seems to be doing well! She even nibbled some food! Keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming our way; gi stasis can quickly turn deadly; but Im hopeful she is on the mend 🙏🏼

Say a prayer for our girl Meeka; we did an emergency drop off today at the vet - I’m not sure what is going on with her, but something isn’t right. Seeing our babies unwell and having to leave them at the vet knowing they are scared and don’t know what’s going on is the hardest thing. Pray she gets to come home soon, Snowball is missing her. He leaves half his pellets in the bowl for her 😔❤️

Its been a longgg time since we’ve done a $5 Friday! And I can’t think of anyone more deserving than these little cuties. Babies and mommas are doing well, but we want to continue to do what we can to help! The stray cat population in our area has reached dire numbers. Alright friends, it’s been quite awhile since we’ve asked for donations, but kitten season is in full swing and we are very much in need! One of our sweet foster families recently took in several young abandoned cats, one of which recently gave birth to 5 beautiful little babies (the other rescue is set to give birth any day, too!). we will be looking for homes for these sweet ones in a few weeks when they are older, but for now we want to help with expenses; if you’ve ever been involved in rescue, you know how quickly bills can add up, especially medical ones! We want to help with eventual spays and neuters so we can get everyone into forever, loving homes - with no more future kittens 🐱 please consider donating if you can, and help us share this post to spread the word. My posts have been sporadic at best lately; we haven’t had any new intakes in awhile, because I simply cannot keep up with any more than we already have. Taking care of the 11 spread all throughout our home sometimes feels like a full time job (on top of our actual full time jobs). We will always be looking for fosters, especially in the Johnstown area that can provide a safe space so that we can continue to help the animals who need us! Thank you all for hanging in there with us - all of the buns have been happy and healthy. If that’s all that we can do for now in this season of life, it’s still worth it ❤️

**edit - all of our animals live fully indoors in cage free set ups; but they enjoy their occasional supervised yard time ☺️ we do not condone keeping these animals as outdoor pets

We are currently working on fencing in our backyard so we can see more happy binkies like this one!

This is Bingo! He was rescued on one of the coldest days of the year this past winter; he was just a baby at the time, and someone had abandoned him near our local CTC. I made a public post asking for help, bundled up, and headed out. I didn’t think that anyone would show up; but then someone did, and then another, and another! Complete strangers came together in single digit temperatures to save his life. A family who helped with his rescue decided he would be the perfect addition to their family, and he has lived his best life ever since! We see a lot of bad in rescue, and sometimes I need to remind myself of all the good that people are capable of 💕

It’s their favorite day! Chewy order arrival day! Thank you to everyone who has helped provide for these sweet babies - through donations of hay, gift cards, supplies - we are so grateful for all the support! I’ve been slacking a bit on the social media side of things, and have had to stop intakes until I can get some fosters, because honestly - rescue is hard, I’m nearly out of room, and I’ve been burnt out. A $5 giftcard is truly enough to turn my day around and remind me that even when I feel alone in this, I’m not. Thank you for caring, S2S family ❤️

I got to this visit this sweet boy today, and seeing him so happy and having him remember me brought tears to my eyes. I rarely get to see the bunnies I’ve adopted out into their forever homes in person again, so today was truly so special for me ❤️ I am so happy he has the best mom I could have ever hoped for! You are very loved, Frankie 💕
