About three years ago Cleo got skunked badly in our back yard and had to have an emergency hose bath :( He loved playing in the water before this happened, after the incident, he hated the hose and would run and hide when he saw my watering the garden.
I felt so badly this happened , I decided to start slowly working on getting him to love it again. It took three years, and today, he played his heart out!!! Totally worth the time and patience it took!!
Summer bath fun is back!! #goslowwithyourdog#havefunwithyourdog#forcefreedogtrainer #forcefreedogtraining#waterplaywithyourdog
Cleo is learning his harnesses isn’t so bad or scary after all! Helping a dog to like putting on a harness can be hard for some pups. My advice is go slow, have snacks and most important, give them a choice! #fearfreedogtraining #rewardbaseddogtraining #helpyourdog#giveyourdogchoises #sensitivedogs
On any day of the year Cleo’s favorite game is “FIND IT!”. On a snowy morning like today, it makes this game even more fun! Get out and enjoy the snow with your dog! #enrichmentfordogs #playwithyourdog#snowdaywithyourdog
A favorite rainy day game! “Which One”is Cleo’s game and he is hard to beat! The “Which One” game is fun for both you and your dog! Also a great way to stretch that doggie brain! Watch that nose work! #dogpuzzlegames#playwithyourdog#rainydaygamesforyouandyourdog#enrichmentfordogs
Clee and I played inside today because of the heat. He loves playing find it games!! Today he was looking for and finding, Mr. Chicken. Look at him work! Find it games are a great way to exercise your dog’s brain and have a blast at the same time. I think I have as much fun as he does 😁 #enrichmentgamesfordogs#sniffgamesforyourdog#finditgamesforyourdog#havefunwithyourdog
Which one?!
Another cold morning means games inside!❄️
Can you find the kibble in my hands? Cleo can! He is pretty good at this game.
This is a great game for dogs who can’t or don’t want to do games that are more physical, like an older dog, or a shy or fearful dog.
All you need to start is a treat/kibble and two hands! Start by making it really easy. Show your dog the kibble while moving it to each open palm. Once they get good at watching your hands and getting the kibble, close one palm, trading the kibble back and forth, see if your dog will target your closed hand. From there try both hands closed. Once they are playing the game, make it a tiny bit harder, go slowly though. Always make sure you dog is having fun, if they seem frustrated, stop. Go back to making it easy again. You dog will really appreciate the time you take to make this fun and silly game something to look forward too! #gameswithyourdog#nosegameswithyourdog#rewardbaseddogtraining #playwithyourdog
What we do when it’s too cold outside? We play inside!
Clee’s favorite game is, Find It! AKA, The BIG Prize!
This game took a bit of time for Clee to get good at. He was afraid of the basket at first and didn’t have the confidence to put his head inside to get the prize out. So, we went slowly, building each sniff, treat and toy at a time. He is a pro now, and it was totally worth the time it took!! Proud of my pup! Give this a try with your dog. It’s so much fun!
