A clean pen, fresh litter box and new toys! They’re jacked!
3 weeks old!
3 weeks old today! They’re getting so cute and playful! Don’t mind the fur covered pen-Bailey is shedding like crazy right now🤪
2 Weeks Old Tomorrow!
Eyes open and big kid collars on! Excuse Bailey smacking her mouth in the background😉
Bailey is able to get in and hang out with the puppies some now, instead of always nursing. Now that they’re all walking and starting to move away to find a spot to go potty, we’ll introduce the litter box this weekend to start potty training!
We’ve entered the “toddler” phase where they start playing and find their voices. Snickerdoodle especially had a lot to say tonight🩶
It definitely feels like a Monday😴
Every new mom needs their mama’s help that first week❤️Bailey is like “can you bathe those while I feed these please??” 😝
Deacon just graduated from his beginner puppy class and he and I have been working on loose leash walking and heeling. Tonight he showed Adam what he’s learned😉
Deacon had his first gunshot exposure today and was not afraid!🙌🏻
Did you know:
The “Fear Period” for Puppies is between Eight to Twelve Weeks old.
AKC has done extensive research on puppy development and suggest that:
"It seems counterintuitive that you’ve brought your pup home at eight weeks, just when he’s becoming fearful and wary of new experiences. But he’s also at his most impressionable, and positive experiences will help him adjust to his new environment.
This is your opportunity to expose your pup to as many new people, new animals, and new situations as you think he can handle.
Like a young child, a puppy at this age is like a sponge, soaking up information and experiences. But it is important to avoid frightening or painful experiences as much as possible. And, when such things do happen, “jolly” your pup through it, heap on the praise, and generally respond positively to allay your puppy’s fears.
Most rewarding of all during this period, this is the time when puppies form strong attachments to their people. You’re forging a lifetime relationship."
Adam built them a ramp to go in and out so they didn’t have to use stairs. They love it! They already know to run to the door when we let them out of their pen, and they go straight outside and down the ramp. From this point on we give them more freedom inside and so many are already scratching on the door to go out! By 6 weeks they don’t want to be in their pen unless they’re sleeping😂
