Hi Family and Friends! I am always adding animals to my crew. I am a huge sucker for all animals and I wish I could rescue at least 1 of each. So, my friend Sharon was looking for a tortoise and I of course I accompanied her to Reptile stores, Sancturay and facebook groups in order to learn and do our research before actually getting one. One day driving we see this reptile store and why not? lets go in. First thing I see is 2 large Redfoot Torts in a bin, outdoors, sun hitting them directly. No food nor water. I see one foaming at the mouth when I read up on our trusted google LOL it says overheating. I felt terrible for those 2 females which were already pyramiding and in those conditions.
Sooooooo needless to say, I asked how much for both and took them. So here I am cutting veggies, adding flowers, soaking them, body guarding them as they are escape artists and keeping humidty high just to name a few things. Reading up on them they kinda eat the same as birds! a few veggies less, a few veggies more. Flowers and so on... So if you see some things just for Torts Sara and Charlotte are the reasons why. 🥹
The first picture is them in that horrible bin. The next one is their new life at home.
