THERE ARE NO ANTIBIOTICS IN MILK

I’m going to break down how dairy farms and antibiotic use works, very simply.

A cow gets treated with antibiotics because she’s sick, has mastitis, etc.

After she is treated she gets a band (on our farm it’s red) around her ankle to signify she’s been treated.

She is then moved into a pen called the “hospital pen” with all of the other treated cows with bands.

She stays in that pen until her antibiotic withdrawal period is up and she feels better.

While she is in that hospital group, her group is always milked LAST.

All of their milk goes down the drain instead of into the milk tank.

Moral of the story, there are no antibiotics in milk 🥰

To ensure even more antibiotic safety, each truck load of milk is tested several times for any antibiotic residue! If any residue is found the entire truck load is dumped and we are fined heavily.

Next time you see milk labeled antibiotic free you know that’s a load of 💩 because ALL milk is antibiotic free!!
