So lovely to be back teaching my favourite dogs & their hoomans today 🥰! Some Hoopers and some agility. And some new faces too!! And I didn't get too cold in the barn - bonus!!

Hoopers one to one lessons start back this coming Saturday January 4th. Don't let the bad weather put you off if you'd like to try something new with your dog - we've got the training barn to keep us dry!!

And that's a wrap! Last Hoopers lessons for 2024 done today. I'm so lucky to have the best clients (who are now also the loveliest of friends), with the most awesome dogs. It's always a pleasure to teach you guys! Looking forwards to another year of laughs, random verbal cues (you know who you are.....😂) and seeing you & your dogs progress. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤️

And that's a wrap! Another great day of hoopers lessons in the sun 🌞. As always, great partnerships, showing great skills. And just to show how dogs of all ages, breeds and ability can take part, here's a short video of Jai the collie. Jai turns 10 years old this week!! Happy birthday Jai!! 🎂 🐾 (shared with handlers permission).

It amazes me how dogs never forget or lose the skills they learn.....Herbie & I haven't trained agility properly for nearly 6 months. We attended a day show yesterday (as I'd lost my competing mojo a bit) to see if we could get our sparkle back. He didn't sparkle.....he absolutely shone. We came away with a 2nd place in steeplechase....! Because he treats a steeplechase course like his hoopers courses!! 😆😆

So Hoopers lessons resumed today, and this was how I was greeted by each of my wonderful & loyal clients. They have all waited many months for me to return to teaching. It really meant so much. Everyone was fabulous 👌 and the dogs hadn't forgotten a thing! And to top it all - the sun shone for us. It was lovely to laugh with friends again. See you all next week!!! 🥰🥰

This unseasonably wet weather didn't stop us training this morning. We are so lucky to have our training barn as well as the paddock! We took the opportunity to recap and strengthen/proof some foundations then put them onto a course. We really focused on the importance of sticking to our criteria - and the results spoke for themselves! Well done!
And it was a pleasure to welcome a complete newbie to the gang.......it never ceases to amaze me how, with positive reward based, fun training, our dogs try so hard & achieve things so quickly!! Well done everyone!!

I'm really sorry everyone, but all lessons are suspended until further notice. All my fields have flooded & we've had to bring the sheep indoors into the barn.

Happy new year!!
It was soooo lovely to be back training my lovely clients and their very fresh dogs today. Lots of amazing work in preparation for our next good hoopers awards. 😊 We are so grateful to have our training barn in this horrendous weather!! 🌧 🌦 🌂 ⛈️

Super proud of all my amazing clients & their dogs today ❤️
It really does give me goosebumps when I see partnerships grow, confidence (dogs & humans) increase and goals met (and often exceeded!).
And throw in some 'crazy/magic circles' and a bit of distance handling - and WOW!!
Well done everyone- I'm so proud of you all. Keep up the good work & never stop believing!!

On the big island competing with my own dogs yesterday...they never cease to amaze me!! Herbie spaniel winning 2 first places, which was amazing!! But sometimes wins come in other shapes & forms....Bron is my Welsh Sheepdog who is nearly 5. She began finding agility & the world just too much to cope with a few years ago, so we stopped everything & just tried to enjoy her life - being my best friend, with no pressure. She's recently decided she wants to join in again - so, at the pace SHE wants, we've started to gently train again. Yesterday, she came to her first Hoopers competition and bagged herself a clear round!! Because all Hoopers shows prioritise 'yellow dogs', she was able to queue easily & enjoy herself. She knew she'd done well & I hope she's as proud of herself as I am of her. Well done Bron dog. 🐾
