Have you ever met a person who completely changed your life? Well maybe not completely but this woman certainly changed mine significantly. Eight years ago I decided id take a chance on trying to foster some pups for Wicklow Animnal Welfare. The rest as they say is history, or at least inevitible. But Fiona Gammell gave me a chance and over the years has given me loads and loads more. Which is why I now have £$% dogs. But it’s not just my life Fiona has changed, I couldn’t even count the thousands (yes I mean thousands) of dogs lives this amazing woman has saved. How many humans lives have changed because of those dogs. If I ever wished I was someone else it would not be Fiona Gammell. She works 24/7 rescuing, she never gets a holiday she never even takes a day off, often even Christmas. I like my lie ins thank you. Has she ever said no to a dog in need, not that I’m aware of even when she probably should have. Because of Fiona I have my beautiful canine family that I would never have had otherwise. They may be a little wonky, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now if she doesn’t murder me when she sees this I will see you all in the new year.

Little Ted is unable to drink on his own because of his shaking though he can eat fine on his own. But with water it would end up everywhere. So I hold him up to the bowl so he can have a drink. If he’s not thirsty he just turns his head and gives me a dirty look.

We had a lovely visit from Wonky Dog mum Hilary today with little Ted. He is unrecognisable from the very sick scrap Hilary took on a while back. Thanks to Hilary’s expertise and devotion to all the ‘non perfect’ doggies who come her way, they really are living their best lives. Thank you from those who would thank you if they could 💜💜💜
