When you look into a mirror what do you see? If I poke the image in the mirror, will you feel it? Just like the image in the mirror, your future is an illusion. We have a tendency to project past experiences into the future thus creating present moment anxieties and fears. Through art therapy we can address issues at the core level to help you find balance and emotional regulation. Identifying triggers, learning to calm your nervous system, and keeping things in perspective helps to alleviate anxiety and fears.

My grandfather in his old age said that while most people leave this earth in one piece, he’s leaving piece by piece. They say Alzheimer’s is the longest goodbye and while it is hard to say goodbye, it can be harder to hold onto the pieces that remain. Through art therapy we can preserve memories, heal relationships, and find sanctuary. Art is also a form a communication when we no longer have words. Art heals and gives us dignity.
