Our Story: No Matter the Odds...

Somehow, hurt, sick, abandoned, and struggling animals always seem to find us. No matter the odds, we believe that every single companion animal deserves the chance at happiness and health. We do our best at matchmaking our animals to owners that are first and foremost right for them. We intend to place each individual animal in a clean, safe, loving, responsible

environment, with a human that can afford their new pets' needs. We at Grim Reaper Rescue & Reprieve take it upon ourselves to educate the importance of adoption fees, and the costs and responsibilities of owning an animal. Animals that come into our care are checked for a microchip, and put on hold for 72 hours if brought as a stray. They are then spay/neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV (cats) or heartworm (dogs), dewormed, and treated with preventative for fleas and heartworm before being placed into their permanent home. We are committed to nurture not just the physical well- being, but also the mental/emotional well-being of the animals in our care, and screen potential adopters heavily to make sure that families are matched with the idea animal(s). Every cent we receive goes towards our animals' care - whether it's food, bedding, enrichment items, preventative care, or necessary surgeries. Each animal is treated as if they were a member of our own families. No adoption is ever permanently closed – we have open arms to any returning GRRR alumni for any reason at anytime. Unfortunate life events should never put an animal in jeopardy. With your help, we strive to create a world with more hope and less homeless companion animals. Stealing hearts and cheating death, we are Grim Reaper Rescue & Reprieve.

Peach Fuzz, Robyn White, & Sits 'n Wiggles Service Dog Training 'n Behavior has held this event with us the last THREE YEARS ✨ it always welcomes the end of another crazy year and begins a new & welcomes us into the holiday each year.

Sashay earning her keep. 🥹

Sashay was recently boarding with our favorite hospital prior to attending an event. Then an old boxer boy came in that desperately needed a blood transfusion after a life threatening emergency surgery.

We allowed the technicians to run bloodwork on Sashay to see if she was a match and that her blood was unremarkable and everything was exactly what that dog needed.

So we said, go for it! Sashay was then sedated, donated, had a huge snack when she woke up, and saved a dang life! 🥰

We are so proud of her. This girl really is perfection. And a hero.
✨And she really needs a home. ✨

These little tots are fully vetted, and ready to find their moms and dads!

They have been completely raised by us and their mom French Fry since day 1 and are literally perfect. They play hard, they snuggle hard, they use their litter box, and they’re great with kids!

They’ve been out of the fryer for about 10.5 weeks now and mom says there are TOO many cooks in the kitchen. 🥵

Please consider one of French Fries little babes today! She’s tired and can’t find the dad to collect child support so please help support her by gettin rid of these kids and sending her some money for kibble & catnip cause mom has priorities. 😂🍟🍃🐈✨

Mission Statement:

Grim Reaper Rescue & Reprieve is a no-kill, non-profit, volunteer ran, small animal rescue serving in Northeast Ohio. We dedicate ourselves to animals who are at risk of unnecessary euthanasia, being homeless, or have been abandoned.

We do our best at matchmaking our animals to owners that are first and foremost right for them. We intend to place each individual animal in a clean, safe, loving, responsible environment, with a human that can afford their new pets needs. Grim Reaper Rescue & Reprieve takes it upon ourselves to educate the importance of adoption fees, and the costs and responsibilities of owning an animal.

Animals that go into our care are checked for a microchip, and put on hold for 72 hours if brought as a stray. They are then spayed, neutered, vaccinated, kid/cat/dog/and men/women tested, FIV/felv and heartworm tested, and treated with preventative for fleas and heartworm before being placed into their permanent home. Finally, we care for any breed, at any age, that presents itself in distress and nurture them to the best of our ability until they are placed with their adopter.
