Grim Reaper Rescue & Reprieve is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, volunteer-only animal rescue serving Northeast Ohio & born in the CLE.

Our Story: No Matter the Odds...

Somehow, hurt, sick, abandoned, and struggling animals always seem to find us. No matter the odds, we believe that every single companion animal deserves the chance at happiness and health. We do our best at matchmaking our animals to owners that are first and foremost right for them. We intend to place each individual animal in a clean, safe, loving, responsible

environment, with a human that can afford their new pets' needs. We at Grim Reaper Rescue & Reprieve take it upon ourselves to educate the importance of adoption fees, and the costs and responsibilities of owning an animal. Animals that come into our care are checked for a microchip, and put on hold for 72 hours if brought as a stray. They are then spay/neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV (cats) or heartworm (dogs), dewormed, and treated with preventative for fleas and heartworm before being placed into their permanent home. We are committed to nurture not just the physical well- being, but also the mental/emotional well-being of the animals in our care, and screen potential adopters heavily to make sure that families are matched with the idea animal(s). Every cent we receive goes towards our animals' care - whether it's food, bedding, enrichment items, preventative care, or necessary surgeries. Each animal is treated as if they were a member of our own families. No adoption is ever permanently closed – we have open arms to any returning GRRR alumni for any reason at anytime. Unfortunate life events should never put an animal in jeopardy. With your help, we strive to create a world with more hope and less homeless companion animals. Good afternoon everyone!! ☀️

To everyone who has reached out about kittens we have NOT forgotten you!

For anyone new here we are a v small rescue with very minimal hands. But the hands that do make up this rescue, are pretty amazing, hard working, thorough, and compassionate.

SLOWLY—-we are growing and making our vision for this rescue what we want. Its just the two of us busting out messages and making sure all these kittens and fosters have what they need and are thriving—-on top of us taking turns with a little orange set of neonate kittens we have obtained 🍊🐱 (photos in a bit!) AND us both having families/working—long/late hours. We’re doing our best 🥹.

If you have any interest in volunteeringg with us, REACH OUT—theres so many ways to help!!!

ALSO; Mama Piper who was on baby watch last week, and her 420 nuggets are doing great! We will also have an update on them this evening! 🪴🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱.

We've been busy lately, pulling tiny lives from the brink! Kitten season is officially HERE, and the sheer number of vulnerable little ones needing our help is overwhelming. 😭💔
These precious babies deserve warmth, full bellies, and a chance at a happy life. To make that happen, we desperately need your support! 🙏

💨🐱🌸Happy Easter, everyone! 🌸🐱💨

We’ve got 5 adorable little bundles of joy that can’t be more than a couple OZ’s hopping around! AND Mama "Piper" has been a 🔥FIRE🔥 mama cat.

Next on the agenda: raising these lil' buds, getting them vetted, spaying mama, and finding them their forever homes.

Just like 4:20, we’re all about finding the right vibe! We know the Cheech to your Chong is here somewhere! 🌱🐣💚

Special shoutout to our amazing foster, Alexis, who’s been devoted her early morning to this bunny boot camp and capturing these seriously adorable first moments! She got the greens on kitten season this year.

It seems everyone is anticipating this little dude!

WELP! This is Koda. 🐾

Koda is a 9 month old Pom-Chi/Husky mix who was rescued from a very odd situation that started with him living in a car. And wouldn’t you know it—he still loves his car rides! 🚙🤣

So he has come a long way! When we first contacted we were let known that he is head shy, scared, and needed work potty training.

✨For the most part now he is accepting of love, especially from the females—he is still a bit shy of men but they do grow on him with a lot of patience and trust. ✨

He will require a quieter home. No young children. He enjoys going on walkies and is very good for them; is 3/4 of the way potty trained, likes other dogs and cats, is neutered, and UTD on vaccines. 👍

This little guy seems ready for a home where he can find his confidence and snuggle up next to you for an afternoon nappy? Perhaps maybe even roll over for some belly rubs? 💭✨

Hi kitty lovers ✨🐱

This polite lady is Pike! 🌸

She is a super sweet 4 year old grey & white tabby. She is very reserved at first but once she warms up to you, she is always ready for some lovins. 🥰

Pike gets along great with other animals as long as she is given a slow—easy introduction (which we will guide you on)!

She loves wet food, cat trees, catnip, enrichment play, watching the outside birds at the feeder (so get you a window perch and some good cat bud!) 🐦🌱

Pike would do best in a laid back, quiet environment. Perhaps no young children, for this reason. We know someone out there is looking for a cutie just like this to come home to. ♥️

✨ Pike is also spayed, INDOOR ONLY, fiv/felv negative & UTD on vaccines! ✨

This pittipotomus/American Bully girl looking for a couch to crash on is Nala! 🦛✨

Nala is a 3 year old American bully who loves EVERYONE, including other canine buds. She loves to go on walks & has greatly improved her walking manners, she also really likes to play ball. ⚽️🐾

She is certain everyone is her friend and she loves kids. She needs some work when it comes to commands and personal boundaries as she has ALOT of love to give. 🫶

Nala, like most bullies, has seasonal allergies and does best on a skin and coat diet which can be purchased at a regular pet supply store. Which she will happily ride with you to as she is a pretty good passenger princess. 👑

She hates her ears being cleaned 😮‍💨 but will sit VERY pretty and try to lick your fingers when you trim her nails. 💅🏽

Her go to snackies are cheese and peanut butter. 🧀 So, stock up now!

Give her blanket or pillow and that girl will be snoozing in 5 minutes. Sounds like a good best friend to me! 🥱✨

Hi everyone! (*deep breath* please read 😮‍💨)

I hope this message finds everyone well-we miss you all and seeing you at events. 🫶

I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts after a challenging period for our nonprofit. It’s been a journey of learning and growth, and I’m excited to connect with you all again! ✨📣✨

First and foremost, I want to clarify that, while we are committed to the well-being of every animal, we recognize that there are difficult decisions in rescue work. If a dog isn’t suited for adoption safely, we will make the tough choice to ensure they find peace. Recently, we faced a very unfortunate incident with one of our intakes that caught us off guard, and I felt the need to address it. There was a lot of confusion and misinformation that went public, which made it a tough time for all of us, that honestly broke everyone on this boards spirit nearly completely. ❤️‍🩹

However, we’ve taken this experience to heart and learned valuable lessons that will guide us moving forward. We are committed to thorough research and ensuring we operate within the legal frameworks in Ohio as a nonprofit animal rescue that includes making sure moving forward our fosters and adopters are very clear on what our contracts state, and expectations are. We will be clear what all they are responsible for—-what we as a rescue are responsible for—and how to keep ourselves and civilians with other animals safe when taking on an animal and committing to rescue work. 🐾

Today, I’m thrilled to announce that we are ready to turn the page and focus on the positive! We have some wonderful animals up for adoption that are ready to find their forever homes. These friends have been lovingly cared for by our dedicated fosters and current owners, and we can’t wait to see them thrive. 😎

✨Thank you for your continued support during this SUPER exhausting/trying time. We truly appreciate each and every one of you, and we’re excited to embark (woof!) on this new chapter together. Cant stop when you got that dog in you! 🐶

Wouldn’t be Christmas without THE BEST THING EVER HAPPENING! 🎄🎅🏼 ♥️

Sashays mom was always reallllllllllllllll different with Sashy than other fosters of ours she took care of… and as many people as Sashay met this year, as many events as she went to with us, one thing remained, and that’s that we ALL knew she was her foster moms dog. (We even made sweet jokes about it all year how her now Mama wouldn’t share her with the public 😂✨)

Well today, Santa dropped off a gift to our girl Sashay that made it real. Her foster is now her MAMA forever. ♥️ we TRULY couldn’t be happier. These two, there’s just something about them.
