SaskPets SaskPets is Saskatchewan's Pet Community! Online Pet Directory, Local Products and more!
(1)

SaskPets was created to build a community to connect pet owners with local businesses, products, services, rescues, activities and events that are all about our special family members, our pets! We love to see people supporting other local businesses as much as possible which is why SaskPets has listings of only-local businesses within Saskatoon and a 30km radius. We want to help make it easy for

pet owners to search and find what they are looking for locally as much as possible. Whether you are looking for a handmade dog collar, a new groomer or vet or want to find out which stores and patios are pet friendly. This directory doesn't just focus on dogs and cats but also birds, reptiles, small animals and fish, because they are also beloved members of the family.

Local Business Feature: Passing Paws Aquamation

Passing Paws is a small family business that provides Pet Aftercare services using an alternative to cremation for pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Aquamation uses water to return the pet back to nature. It is a gentle process that takes about 20 hours, the only solid remains are the mineral ash of the bones which are then processed into a powdered consistency and dried for several more days before being returned to the owner. Passing Paws provides both private and shared aquamation options.

The family behind this small business are Lisa and her two daughters Courtney and Brooklyn. They have been involved in the Pet Inudusry for years and started Passing Paws in 2017 after hearing about a greener and gentler way to respect a Pet whom has passed as well as Mother Nature.

Passing Paws works with a variety of Vet Clinics in and around Saskatoon and if your Vet is not one of their partner clinics you can request it directly through your Vet and have them contact Passing Paws. Along with the Aquimation process, Passing Paws also has a variety of Pet Urns and other keepsakes to help memorialize your Pet.

Fun Fact: Along with Dogs and Cats, Aquamation is gentle enough for small pets like rabbits, hamsters, reptiles, birds and more.

Featured Adoptable Pet from Regina Cat Rescue: Jana & Jaxon

Jana and Jaxon are a super sweet bonded pair that were left behind by their owner to fend for themselves on the streets. Fortunately they were found by RCR's Community Cat Team with a single kitten in tow. All three were brought into care with RCR and placed in foster homes and are very grateful to be safe in a home again.

Both cats are very relaxed and affectionate. Jaxon is a master head butter and purr machine. Jana is gentle and laid back. They both love attention and playing with toys. Jana and Jaxon love snuggling each other and their people, and are eager to find a true forever home that will give them the love and adoration they deserve.

Local Business Feature: Paws Republic Centre for Pets

Paws Republic is a pet care facility in Martensville that has been around since 2012. They began with one location and in fall of 2022 opened a 2nd location, just outside of the city between Martensville and Warman, called Camp Paws.

The main location in Martensville offers boarding for dogs and cats as well as doggie daycare and dog training. Training is done by the owner Kristine. She offers private sessions, group classes, board and train as well as seminars. She uses the ACT training approach which stands for Adaptive Canine Training which prioritizes finding the right training method for you and your dog by incorporating ideas and strategies from an extremely broad spectrum of canine education approaches.

Boarding services are provided for both dogs, cats as well as Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Rats and Birds (some conditions apply). Doggie Daycare is offered for all dogs and they provide both small group play as well as 1-on-1 play for dogs that may have issues with other dogs.

The Camp location provides Doggie Daycare services in a more rural location with three outside parks. There is lots of time to run and play outside with regular breaks in their inside area to rest and/or cool down/warm up. Camp Paws also offers Private Park rentals so you can enjoy some solo, safe, off-leash time with your pup(s). The parks are 3.5 acres, 5 acres and 12 acres. The two smaller parks are fully fenced and the larger park is only partially fenced with plans to fully fence it in the future.

Fun Fact: Paws Republic acts as the local pound in Martensville and area!
