‼️ 🌟 2024 PRICING🌟 ‼️
If you are looking into getting birds from me this year, here’s a guideline for what you can expect for prices. These will be the base prices for all birds without disqualifications, they may be higher based on age and my personal preferences. Pet quality birds will be heavily discounted.
I will NOT be keeping waitlists this year as there are too many unpredictable variables. Everything will be first come, first serve as posted. I have about 3 small hatches of all my chicken breeds each week, so keep your eyes on the page if you’re looking for something specific throughout this hatching season. All chicks will be at least 2 weeks old before they will be available. I will make a separate post about each breeding pen I have this year, what they consist of, and what to expect from those pens.

Now let’s get a bit into WHY my prices are what they are.
Any time I add new blood/new varieties, I spend WEEKS shopping through breeders for bloodlines I absolutely cannot live without. I buy from people who have already invested decades into improving their lines. I spend anywhere from $100-200 for a dozen hatching eggs, and I consider myself extremely blessed if half of those make it to maturity. Any live birds I buy are no less than $20/chick and $100-500 for a started or mature bird. I only hold on to my absolute favorites, which is maybe 1 out of every 20 chicks I hatch, if I’m lucky.
Increasing gas prices = increasing feed bills. I go through $80-100 on bird feed alone every week, not including shavings, feeders, waterers, coops, electricity, vitamins, etc. I’m not even going to try to include the TIME that goes into raising these animals mostly because I love every second of it, but please keep in mind that my time is still valuable.
Some people like to tell me about how they got their silkie or polish chicks for $5 each and how gorgeous they are, and that’s awesome. I’m happy for you. I know what I’m willing to spend for quality, and I still charge much less than that since I’ve mostly sold local in recent years. I plan on shipping as much as I can keep up with this year. If you want cheap, pretty layers, please look elsewhere or expect pet quality. You are buying the result of years of hard culling for only the best quality breeders. This is unfortunately not a cheap hobby and in order for me to keep doing what I love, the birds I let go need to cover at least a decent percentage of what I put into these beautiful animals.
Wishing everybody more hens than roos this hatching season and a blessed 2024!💕
