CritterhouseKC is a foster-based animal rescue organization operating in Greater Kansas City. Every pet deserves a home and every home deserves a pet.

At CritterHouseKC, we specialize in finding foster homes and providing care for animals in some of the most challenging situations, ultimately finding them permanent homes with loving families. We take in mamas and babies, pregnant cats and dogs, orphaned puppies and kittens and babies with a variety of special needs. We also have the opportunity from time to time to pull animals released from com

mercial breeding facilities into our program. These animals require a special skill set to transition them from a life of breeding to life as a treasured family member. CritterHouseKC was born from a collection of volunteers who have served the greater Kansas City area rescue community for decades. We understand the needs of area animals and potential adopters alike and bring a fresh perspective to the art of connecting the right pet to the right home. Further, our great veterinary partners and our relationships with other rescue groups throughout the region allow us to offer low-cost adoptions after providing spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccination and microchips.

Seasons Greetings to friends and donors!

We were hoping to have a more illuminating update to share about Moss by now, but questions remain.
�
Moss did well through his surgery last week, when vets discovered and removed a small rock. Unsure whether this small foreign body accounts for his pre-surgical symptoms, visible internal inflammation, and blood work markers, we focused first on healing from the exploratory surgery.

A hiccup in recovery sent us back to the vet for an exam and some followup diagnostics. They confirmed that his stitches seemed to be holding inside and out. We tried a switch up of some meds, which seem to have him on an upswing since. It's his best post-surgical day yet!�
�So now what? For now, we await vets to interpret his latest lab results. We keep an eye on him in his foster home. We hope that it really was just the rock and some early-life malnutrition that account for his mysterious pains, and that he doesn't require any ongoing medical intervention. But if he does, we know there's a special adopter out there who will love him just the same. Either way, we look forward to meeting them!

WOW!!! Great news for Moss- our goal not just reached but exceeded!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all donors. We will continue to post updates to his donation page and the CritterHouseKC Facebook about his progress!

With some stress alleviated by your donations, we remain optimistic for him as he approaches surgery this Friday. He's strong and spirited despite the tummy troubles, so we hope his journey is much smoother after vets are able to get a closer look at what's going on inside of him.

The peace of mind this financial milestone has brought to the CritterHouseKC family can't be overstated. It's a rescue run by a tiny team with huge hearts. Every cent you donate gets poured directly into animals' care. As a foster mom writing this, I'm seeing it firsthand. Pets who find themselves at CritterHouseKC have a lot more questions than answers in their futures, but it's such a lucky place for them to land in the meantime.

To support and nurture these babies takes more than one CritterHouse, it takes a CritterVillage. It wouldn't be possible without people like you, and all the fosters and volunteers whose lended hands are the only way to extend this lifesaving network of care.

X-rays and bloodwork confirm that something is wrong with his stomach. The GOOD NEWS is that his surgery is scheduled for this upcoming Friday, 12/20, which was a stroke of good luck around the holiday vet care bustle.

The GOOD NEWS is that he is still in good spirits and his condition hasn’t worsened or become an emergency. He is happy in his foster home awaiting next steps, getting all the cuddles he needs when he feels extra icky.

Moss is a six month old husky mix who was found abandoned roadside in rural Missouri.

CritterHouseKC took him in, hoping for a quick neuter-adoption-turnaround, but it became clear that he required more extensive veterinary care.

When his tummy isn't hurting, Moss is a puppy's puppy. He loves to wrestle with his canine foster siblings, get the zoomies, bounce after balls to retrieve them, crunch on ice cubes, chase kitties, boof at the mailman, and snuggle the night away.

Help Moss grow big and strong! This scruffy sweetie needs your help-
Moss has a mystery tummy ache without easy answers. Our amazing veterinary support team
at Union Hill Animal Hospital ran tests that confirm: Something is stuck, taking up too much
space in his stomach.
This ongoing issue is something he hasn’t been able to pass himself, and is preventing proper
digestion, affecting his bloodwork, and causing him discomfort after every meal. They’re working
on next steps to help him feel better, which may total $2000 for treatment.
This puppy needs medical intervention to empty that tummy!!! We need your help with this
unexpected expense to ensure that Moss is as healthy as possible in his continued search for a
loving home. Please donate to help ensure that food can pass through his stomach and nourish
him to become even sweeter, snugglier, and sillier than ever.

Sweet Mama Aurora blessed us with 8 beautiful puppies this morning! 6 boys and 2 girls. Everyone is doing well, the babies are all healthy and eating like champs and mama is getting some much deserved rest.

Good golly Miss Molly! At almost 4 months young, we cannot imagine how these sweet gal is still available for adoption! With the most perfect eyeliner and lipstick, she can charm most any suitor. Molly loves playing with her foster siblings and friends. When she’s not learning new tricks with them, she enjoys basking in the sunshine. Molly also prefers to be held like your hooman child. She is thought to be a labsky, but may have some surprise breeds in there as well. Molly is up to date on vaccines, spayed, dewormed, and microchipped.
