Little Thief Ferretry We are LGTBQ Animation Artists living in Vancouver, BC Canada and passionate about ferrets. Our ferrets eat raw/whole prey diets and are pets first.

We do not give kits out to pet stores or families with children under 12. To research more about ferrets please go to https://holisticferretforum.com/
We do not specialize in any colors and we do not breed panda or blaze ferrets, the ones we have are rehomed to us.

We have two boys from the litter from this last summer. Their home they were chosen for originally decided they were not ready for ferrets.
They are happy, healthy, energetic and really goofy! They dook at even the aspect of play.
With our last update on our ferretry closure, we do add that these boys are carriers of ECE so would need to be the only ferrets in the household unless other ferrets have ECE or you are equipped to handle ECE. (ECE is ferret coronovirus, most threatening to elderly, immunocompromised/health risked, or infant ferrets. It is not transmittable to other animals)
Adoption fee has been reduced for convenience due to this. Please fill out our form if you are interested:

It is with a heavy broken heart we are announcing the closure of our breeding project as almost as soon as it started with its incredibly short lived run.

Infected imported ferrets from other breeders were confirmed carriers of ECE and Helicobacter were unknowingly introduced to our household and has infected every single one of our ferrets. ECE Hit our male Warboy the hardest and he has been on strict medication and hasnt been taking the healing process well. While many in the ferret community may think that ECE isn't enough to cause a closure, we stand by our vets advise that has told us otherwise.

We are young artists that work multiple jobs, it was out of our pocket we scraped up to import ferrets to Canada to try and give others a chance in owning a healthier ferret. We are millennials that live off of crumbs to get by yet still we wanted to attempt such a risky project. We suffered a lot of heartbreak over our own marshalls ferrets that had all died in devastating ways due to terrible breeding practices from marshalls. And we wanted to try to make a difference even if it was insignificant. Financially there is no way we can continue to bring ferrets into our home to try and save this goal as much as I wish we could. But I can't support the idea of breeding my ferrets, even if they show no signs of illness as confirmed carriers of ECE/Helicobacter and potentially them going into a home with other ferrets and getting them infected or possibly killed.

It hurts us so much that we just got the ball rolling, with so many people excited for the chance to have kits from us..and we are so sorry we cannot be the ones to provide that to you. We are still looking for homes for the boys from the litter we currently have. But as for our current ferrets, they will remain in our homes as pets and will all be retired from breeding and live out their lives with us.

We have two boys from the litter earlier this year still available. Their home they were chosen for originally hasnt been in contact so unfortunately we are looking for a new perfect home. Please fill out our application on our website! They are extremely high energy and vocal boys that have a big appetite and play for hours on end. :) They can go separately or together, but would do well in a home that can have room for their zoomies.

Did you know that we do not have a shelter? V.I. FERT is what's known as a "virtual rescue" which means that we do not have an actual location. Every single ferret we take in lives with a foster family. Without our foster families, we would not exist.

Fostering is not a "one size fits all" kind of thing. We have many different types of foster families.
- Some have decades of ferret experience. Some have never had a ferret before.
- Some can only foster single ferrets. Some can foster large groups of ferrets.
- Some only take in younger, healthy ferrets. Some take in palliative ferrets and ferrets with special needs (lymphoma, paralysis, require injections etc).
- Some do short term, emergency fostering (24-48 hours). Some do long term fostering (could be over a year).
- Some only take in ferrets that are good with kids. Some specialize in taking in ferrets with behaviour issues.

We are always looking for new foster families to join our team. No experience necessary. We can even lend you the equipment you need. Think you might be willing to foster a ferret or two... or three or four?

** We have a definite need for foster homes in the Okanagen as well as every city between Vancouver Island and Kelowna. This past year we have had multiple ferrets surrendered to us from the Kelowna area. Getting ferrets from Kelowna to a foster home on Vancouver Island or the Lower Mainland has proven to be complicated and we need your help to rescue ferrets in that area who need it.

Sushi and Mochi were our marshal ferrets. They are our mascots and what inspired us to begin the journey of breeding ferrets. Sushi died from heart disease at age 7 and Mochi died from lymphoma at age 6. The heart ache of loosing them was tremendous. But they live on through our memories and our artwork.
