Do you believe in destiny?

Recently, I reunited with a client that I first met 15 years ago when I was still a veterinary assistant at a local hospital. Then four years ago, I got the opportunity to take care of their pets at that same hospital, but as their veterinarian.

Last week, her husband saw the Sunny Side work vehicle and told his wife to call us to make an appointment for their dogs. The rest is history!

We’ve added laser therapy to our list of services!

Laser therapy is a noninvasive treatment designed to reduce pain and inflammation, and to speed healing.
The therapeutic infrared light targets the mitochondria in damaged cells and stimulates them to regenerate and to return the cells back to optimal function.

Laser therapy can be utilized as an adjunct to existing treatments, often reducing or replacing the need for pain medications. This therapy is highly beneficial to pets with liver and kidney disease that should not be taking many pharmaceutical medications.

It can help with the conditions such as arthritis, neurological diseases such as intervertebral disc disease, degenerative myelopathy, skin and ear infections, wounds, abdominal disorders and any pain or inflammation!

Happy Friday! This shy kitty Miss Mandy, was treated for an ear infection. Once her little head was tucked in a blanket, she was the most patient getting her ears cleaned!

Hi my name is Stephani Ramsey, I was born and raised in Southern California, and have a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine. My veterinary career began during the pandemic with Banfield Pet Hospital as a receptionist and eventually trained to be a veterinary assistant. Working at Banfield, I met Dr Miyata and discovered a shared passion for quality care while bringing pets the most comfort possible.

In my free time I enjoy pursuing artistic avenues and spending time outdoors, whether it be a casual hike or more intensive like rock climbing or horseback riding. I also currently share my home with 2 snakes, Bean and Chow Mein, and my cat, Blackie.

Not all skin or ear infections are the same! It’s important to run a cytology test, which pinpoint at the organisms that are causing the infection prior to starting medications such as antibiotics. Samples are taken, then they are stained and read under a microscope at the time of your appointment. Results are used to find the best course of treatment for your pet!

One of the most commonly asked questions we get asked, is if we like doing house calls. We love that it keeps things interesting! You can never predict how things will go when meeting new patients in their home. Exams are done on their bed, on a cat tree, or even in bathroom sinks!
