We’ve added laser therapy to our list of services!
Laser therapy is a noninvasive treatment designed to reduce pain and inflammation, and to speed healing.
The therapeutic infrared light targets the mitochondria in damaged cells and stimulates them to regenerate and to return the cells back to optimal function.
Laser therapy can be utilized as an adjunct to existing treatments, often reducing or replacing the need for pain medications. This therapy is highly beneficial to pets with liver and kidney disease that should not be taking many pharmaceutical medications.
It can help with the conditions such as arthritis, neurological diseases such as intervertebral disc disease, degenerative myelopathy, skin and ear infections, wounds, abdominal disorders and any pain or inflammation!

Hi my name is Stephani Ramsey, I was born and raised in Southern California, and have a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine. My veterinary career began during the pandemic with Banfield Pet Hospital as a receptionist and eventually trained to be a veterinary assistant. Working at Banfield, I met Dr Miyata and discovered a shared passion for quality care while bringing pets the most comfort possible.
In my free time I enjoy pursuing artistic avenues and spending time outdoors, whether it be a casual hike or more intensive like rock climbing or horseback riding. I also currently share my home with 2 snakes, Bean and Chow Mein, and my cat, Blackie.

Not all skin or ear infections are the same! It’s important to run a cytology test, which pinpoint at the organisms that are causing the infection prior to starting medications such as antibiotics. Samples are taken, then they are stained and read under a microscope at the time of your appointment. Results are used to find the best course of treatment for your pet!

One of the most commonly asked questions we get asked, is if we like doing house calls. We love that it keeps things interesting! You can never predict how things will go when meeting new patients in their home. Exams are done on their bed, on a cat tree, or even in bathroom sinks! Here’s a couple littermates, Bailey and Baxter getting examined in their favorite sink.

One year ago, I opened Sunny Side Veterinary! We were only open on Mondays, and I worked relief shifts for the rest of the week at other hospitals to keep the company going.
Today, we are open full-time, and I have the one and only .xciv assisting me. Thanks to all the people that made it possible, especially .samrose and all the relief techs that helped me take house calls. We are truly grateful for the community of the most caring, passionate pet owners we get to call clients!

Our pack! Millie is a 3 YO terrier mix that had been rehomed twice prior to her joining our pack and she hasn’t looked back! Cora is our shy and sweet geriatric pittie that was picked up as a stray and in the last couple of years with us, has learned to play with toys and be a dog. Such a fulfilling journey to see these rescues glow up!

Meet Ichabod! This adorable 16 year old has been fighting multiple major health issues like a warrior. He’s lived months past his prognosis and still has so much love to give! He responds extremely well to acupuncture and gets it bimonthly. He is on a high quality diet and mushroom supplements to support his immune system. His momma also pays close attention to him and has made big changes to accommodate his needs!

Hank is a hundred pounds of pure sweetness! He needed the laceration on his knee flushed and sutured closed after he was bitten by another dog. As soon as he woke up from his sedation, he came to put his head on my shoulder! Love getting to work with sweet large breed dogs.

We offer house calls, which means that we perform exams, treatments, acupuncture, and take samples for diagnostics all in your home! Simple diagnostics such as skin and ear cytologies are run in our vehicle during the appointment. Look out for our Sunny Side vehicle as we drive up to see your pet!

Acupuncture can be beneficial in many cases! Especially in pets with liver and kidney disease that cannot process medications like healthy pets. Hi my name is Daisy Cuevas! I started my veterinary career in 2015 with Banfield Pet Hospital as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. In 2017, I joined a start-up mobile veterinary company in San Francisco and fell in love with the mobile veterinary world. I worked up to being the practice manager there, and have been in several managerial positions for other companies since then. In July of 2021, I moved down to Southern California to be with my long-term partner, Angel, and began managing the Banfield in Tustin, where I met Dr. Miyata. In February 2023, I joined Sunny Side Veterinary to work alongside Dr. Miyata.

Hi, it’s been a while so I wanted to re-introduce myself!
I’m Dr. Keiko Miyata! I was born in Japan, and grew up in Orange County, California. I obtained my veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow in 2018, and my acupuncture certification with Chi Institute in 2020. I previously worked at private and corporate hospitals as an associate and as a locum doctor.
My passion for integrative and holistic medicine along with my desire to provide personalized care to my patients led me to start my own mobile veterinary practice. By offering a mobile service that sees a limited amount of pets a day, I am able to provide my patients with longer visits, as well as more customized and comprehensive care while reducing the stress associated with traditional veterinary visits.

Saying goodbye to your beloved pet is one of the most difficult things in life. The last car ride, having to say goodbye in the exam room distracted by barking and people talking, having to leave by walking through the hospital lobby sobbing while other clients look away…all of it can be very daunting.
At-home euthanasias are performed in the space where your dog or cat normally slept, surrounded by one or many family members, and performed even after-hours. Peaceful, personalized, and private with no distractions.

Meet Roo! She’s an older gal with cruciate ligament tears on both knees (similar to ACL tears in humans). She had negative side effects to traditional pain medications, so her pain is solely treated with acupuncture, food therapy, Chinese herbals and Adequan injections. When we got a call from Andres about the feral Border Collie he adopted, we weren’t sure what the day would look like. We knew Elliot had experienced trauma, but we had never encountered a dog that was living in that level of fear. For months, Andres had done what he could with trainers to make Elliot feel safe, but could not get him to come out from under the vanity. When we arrived, it took a while for us to even get him out of the space to examine him, but we were finally able to give him his first bath in several months, cut his overgrown nails and fur, update his vaccines, and run preventive lab work. We came up with a new plan on how Andres and his family can work on getting Elliot to feel comfortable roaming through the rest of the house and eventually take a walk outside. We weren’t sure how Elliot was going to respond to the new techniques, but we are absolutely elated that he is already showing progress!! It was incredibly refreshing to work with owners who are not willing to give up on a dog with severe trauma and we feel grateful to have been able to work with them. Go Elliot and Andres!l

Happy holidays everyone!
When we first met Barkley, he was not bearing weight on his left hind leg despite being on multiple pain medications and Adequan injections for weeks from a cruciate ligament injury (first video). He started to put more weight after the second acupuncture session, and we also used a soft brace to support his legs. The second video is of him now after several acupuncture sessions. He is able to go up and down the stairs and take walks without the brace! He will likely be on pain meds long-term, but we are happy that he has his quality of life back! We love Miss Willow! We were first called when her back pain wasn’t controlled on pain medications alone. We had to do two sessions in a week, and after adding electroacupuncture, she was able to walk again normally.
