Mama Knight is at Specks in Carmel, 10725 N Michigan Road, and is still looking for her purr-fect person!! This sweet girl is one of our longest residents. She absolutely loves to play, wand toys are a great way for her to exercise and bond with her people! She is very affectionate, goofy, and talkative. She chirps at the Specks employees and lays on the registers to say hi to customers, demanding that everyone give her some chin scratches.

Knight is able to get along with other cats as long as they respect her boundaries. She made friends with a junior kitten and they played very well together. She occasionally gets overstimulated which can cause her to be a bit mouthy but she is never mean. She loves to do zoomies around the store, and has been known to steal catnip. Knight is an extremely loving and personable girl. Could she be your valentine this year?

2025 is off to a strong start with 47 adoptions in January! Just look at all these happy kitties and smiling humans! *A few adoptions aren't pictured.*

Rescue story time, from one of our valuable fosters:

Sophie arrived at my house in August with her 6 newborns… she was tiny and scared but did an amazing job raising her kittens. All were adopted quickly once they were fixed and vetted, two with my family members!We decided she deserved to stay in a place she felt safe, so we foster failed and renamed her Mama Mia. She has filled out and enjoys her treats and toys, and is beginning to play with our other two cats. She remains wary but makes progress every week. I’m getting meows and even visits up on the sofa (but no touch!)I’m confident she will continue to feel safe enough to let us handle her more (she needs a nail trim) and she’s a beauty!

It’s a sleepy Saturday at Speck's in Carmel! These two girls have been waiting awhile for their fur-ever homes! Knight, (5yo Black Female) and Gracie (7mo Dilute Tortie Female) are both very sweet, playful girls. Knight doesn’t get along with many cats, but loves to play with Gracie and run laps around the store! Gracie is shy and can be slow to come around, but Knight leads the way and boosts her confidence. They are not bonded but have become fast friends, and we would love to see them go together.

We are approaching our one year anniversary of adoption residency at Petco. We have amazing volunteers that come in twice daily to play with our fosters, and help keep them fed and cared for…we would love to give them some shifts off as a thanks for their help. A few have needed to move on due to schedule changes.

You will have a direct impact on our fosters finding their forever homes, and you get fun playtime with our cuties.

Happy #nationalcatday from our foster Becca and one of her foster babies, Benjamin. He’s not quite ready for adoption but he will be soon. We are sorry to report, there’s no know cure for #parrotcatsyndrome but with a sweetheart like Benjamin you don’t really want a cure. Show us how you’re celebrating today!
